Default Fav places to eat

Being the foodie, I'm wondering what places everyone likes to eat at while out on a date?

I love the Vintner grill. The scallops and halibut dishes are great. I love everything I've tried there. It is a drive off strip though. http://www.vglasvegas.com/

For places on the strip, Fiamma's at the MGM is at the top of my list. Try the short rib ravioli. http://studio54.com/restaurants/fiam...urant-bar.aspx

I've eaten at Joel Robuchon and it would be at the top of my list if their tasting menu didn't take so long to get through. http://www.joel-robuchon.com/

I'm a big fan of Indian and Middle-Eastern food. My current fav is Tamba. You can't go wrong with any of the curry dishes. The parking isn't so great. http://www.tambalounge.com/

What are your favorite places?

Oh yeah... Prime Steakhouse in the Bellagio is great, the VooDoo lounge in the Rio and N9NE restaurant in the Palms. All great places to dine.

Thanks everyone! Been to Lawry's, very nice. Monique, how does the Aria buffet compare to the M buffet? I haven't been to the VooDoo Lounge in forever. Might have to see how it's doing. I've heard you can't go wrong with any of the places at the Wynn.

I actually haven't been to the M buffet yet but the Aria has crab legs(my fav) and very worldly food to choose from.

Anyone have anything to say about:

Joes Stone Crab in Ceasars
Pieros - off the strip near the convention center
or any places to eat in Paris Hotel

Thanks.

I thought that it was the worst buffet that I have ever had in Vegas. Entire place smelled like bad fish ... and it tasted like it, lol. Must have been an off night for them perhaps ...

The "M" buffet is the single greatest buffet that I have ever been to. Superlative is not a strong enough word for that place. It is a MUST do when in Vegas.

I really enjoy Cantaletto's at the Venetian. Quaint yet spectacular atmosphere in the open air market area.

MGM's Joel Robuchon is the place to go for the high end. Food is as pretty to look at, as it is to taste.

Well, I ended up going to Joes twice while I was there, in the Ceasars forum shops and it was AWESOME. I have eaten at Joes in Miami Beach and the food here was just as good.

Ate at MESA in Ceasars for dinner - Bobby Flay's place - and it was EXCELLENT as well. Ate the Lamb chop and rice tamale and I would eat there again in a heartbeat.

Never made it off the strip so I had to cancel my reservation at Piero's but I have been there about 8 years ago and it was excellent so no reason to think it wont be again.

Had lunch one day at the burger bar between Paris and Ballys (right off the Bally's casino floor) and it was great as well.

All in all, really enjoyed my time in Vegas (as usual) and I'll be back sometime end of summer beginning of fall.

Both Nora's cuisine and Nora's wine bar are excellent choices for off strip Italian dining. They're a bit more casual then Piero's but a bit farther off-strip.

I second jwayne on Joe's, it's fabulous!

Lorsha, I agree about Joel's. It is fantastic. Was the time it took to get through the menu a problem?

Anyone been to Postrio in the Venetian?

Thoughts on dining on the strip vs off-strip? I think off-strip lends it self to more over nights vs the dinner date because of the time getting to an off-strip dining place. To me the off-strip places get me out of the big resorts and in doing that, feel more intimate. The strip places are closer to the action so we don't burn time driving. On a 4 hour dinner date, drive time can be a big percentage of the date. I know, book longer dates. But some ladies won't book longer dates on the 1st date. Strip restaurants are some of the best dining Vegas has to offer. The variety of places on the strip can't be beat either. Or am I smoking the Hookah on all this?
