How Did You Find Out About This World?

I have never thought of myself as a naive person, but I still can visualize the moment I found out about this world.

I had a horny moment and googled the adult film star Keisha, who was more well-known to those of us that entered puberty in the '70s and '80s. There on her official site were two banners that stated she was TER-rated and Big Doggie-rated. I thought to myself, wtf are these ratings---are they the AAA of adult films??

So I clicked through and the rest as they say, is history. For the balance of that day I was net-surfing with I imagine my mouth wide open and mentally repeating "Holy Shit". Although I was certainly turned on to a degree, the more overwhelming sensation was of shock and amazement. It was that literal moment when you are taken behind a curtain to see something you never knew existed.

Up until then, I honestly thought that escorts were women (and men) that were available for social events because the protocol for those events dictated attendance by couples, etc.

Hubby and I were staying in a hotel due to our apartment catching on fire. I knew he was stressed out due to being homeless, trapped in a small hotel room, having no clothes, and I was 3 months pregnant. I wanted to do something extra nice to provide some stress relief. I think my full blown understanding of P4P was in my younger days. Lets say I fully comprehended the concept long before I could participate.

I don't know when I first found out about P4P. In 2006 I knew about: High-end ladies that a concierge would call for hotel guests; and streetwalkers, bar girls, and massage plus providers.

There was a related thread in the "Tech Talk" forum or whatever it is called here. It was about eccie showing up on search engines (& some other stuff over my head technically). My point/reply was most of us stumble across these sites as a result of a search of some sort and a little trial & error.

I mean I knew what (& in a limited sense participated in) P4P was before Google, but I found these sites by accident. This is a pretty private hobby; not something your buddy tells you about over a beer or round of golf.

Had always seen the ads in the yellow pages and figured they were scams or stings. It wasn't till a few years back (early to mid '07) that I was down in Rockport, Tx and saw the typical CL news report coming from a channel out of Corpus Christi, Tx. I remember it showed exactly where to look on CL and explained what some of the 'code' (pricing & alphabet soup) meant. From there I noticed a few ladies w/ aspd in their ads, so I checked out aspd.......and the rest, as they say, is history.

I was in Nevada one year ago, consistently earning almost 10X my currently hourly rate, poshed up, dolled up in a 5-star suite with VIP access. As a teenager, I had come to know what the term "whorehouse" meant..... even conservative "Westerns" like "Gunsmoke" were pretty liberal in their depiction of "Saloon Girls"!

It wasn't until my early 20's, in 1981 or '82 that I was introduced to the "Real Thing"..... Mr Lucky's in Morgan City, LA. Mine is very similar to big buddha. Heard around about CL and was checking it out for a few weeks when an ad mentioned ASPD. Googled it and spent a couple of hours a day for about 3 months reading posts and learning about the hobby. I was aware what p4p was at an early age, but I had the impression it was just a very seedy experience for the average Joe (so unless you had big $$$ it was not an expereince you wanted). I was always aware of p4p and had an overactive interest in the entire prospect. I traveled all over the country with my parents. My dad was in the energy business and I got an eye opening at a pretty early age, primarily with regards to bars and clubs.
When I was about 17 (in 1976) the cops busted a local brothel. The newspapers gave more than enough information for an enterprising teen to figure out who and where things were happening. Before the internet, the local library with city directories etc had enough information, you just had to put the information together. Yes, I did cut class to go to the main library to research a term paper.

In our area, fun was located just outside city limits. In these days you couldnt legally buy a drink in a bar in OK, so places just outside the city limits or county line were ripe for "liquor by the wink" and other services. For you Okies, the Avalon just west of Tulsa comes to mind no doubt.

Having a well paying part time job I pretty much had all the pieces put together and made a cold call to a Miss Kitty type provider. Enough research (and looking far older than my age) got my foot in the door (and other parts of me elsewhere.) She was an excellent reference. Several MP employees branched out to either go indy or do both offering services to disrete MP clients, thus pocketing door fees in addition to the gratuity. Several local MP techs went in together on a garage apartment to offer indy services to select clients. LOL there was a scheduling "calendar" kept in a box on the back porch of the apt, so if you showed up, you checked the calendar, retrieved the key from where it was hidden and let yourself in. Occasionally schedules would conflict, and actually that was when the fun began on more that one occasion.
Fast forward a few years to Prodigy, Compuserve, AOL and then the web as we know it now. Well, you all know that story.
