What is Waco Kid's Weekly College Football Review? It is an ongoing weekly review of all things College Football!!
Each week upcoming games can be discussed and predictions made, name-calling after victories and general all-around college football discussion! Each week will be closed out by the next Monday and a new thread opened for the current college football schedule for each week.
Rules -
"Rules?? We don't need no stinkin’ rules!”
Actually we do.
WKWCFR rule 1
"Lies, damn lies and statistics!"
British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli
If you quote a stat, record, 3rd down conversion rate, an all-time mark or the number of jock straps an 85-man team needs ...
Post it! If you can't post a link to it, it's bogus!
What's valid in the Internet age? Just about anything! Any of the major sports publications, local newspapers, any of the big networks and official school and NCAA sites just to cover the big ones.
WKWCFR rule 2
Predictions must be posted 1 day in advance! If you haven't read the sports page and figgured out who's going to win by the day before ya never will!
Must be time stamped before Midnight the day before game-day, for any weekly games Thur-Sun on the current weekly schedule.
So there you have it, pretty basic! You can post on general topics of your favorite teams regardless of that week's opponent. Just remember WKWCFR rule 1

Okay, Waco Kid, I like this idea.....being a college football fan I will look forward to your weekly postings. I'm a bigger fan of the NFL but this will still keep me interested, no doubt.
My commentary: now that we're moving into a "new era" of college football (finally.....a playoff system....yay!) I wish they'd kick off this season anew by posting NO POLLS until October 1st.
Being most schools play deep into November if not into the first week of December....October / November has plenty of weekends for ESPN & all other networks to do their typical hype of Number so-and-so versus Number such-and-such.
I don't pay one iota of attention as to who is ranked where on Labor Day weekend.....it's just too damned early to know who is good to great.....and who is simply going to be fodder for the juggernauts on their schedule.
Again, all I'm asking is for the pollsters to cool their jets, at least for a while....let us all get a 4-week sampling of who looks like what....and then October 1st they bust loose with their rankings. And, hey, they could make a show of it if they wanted to then:
Now if ESPN was smart....they could find a way to turn that announcement into a made-for-television event like the NFL draft or the 68-team March Madness Bracket pairings. With so much at stake (ie: a playoff slot on the line), the viewership / ratings for such a thing might be worthy of millions of commercial dollars to the network.
And we all know this is all about making $$$ in the long run, right? With many college stadiums experimenting with the idea of beer / wine sales this coming season, everyone is looking for new revenue streams.....if paying student-athletes is gonna happen, they're gonna need to explore every idea possible.

Sparty wears the Shield of a Warrior. I.E. Dantonio can't afford a backslide year now. Just WIN, Sparty.

Don't know why, but I think Arkansas will make a serious run at Auburn, could even win. And Clemson looks good against a usually underachieving Ga.
I'm not gettin' a vibe on that Hog thing. I am buzzing on Clemson over UGA. Dig it!

Basically, i rate the top 25 because it's the bigger games week by week.

Guess Steve wanted to show him it was going to be a good year?
Possibly even looks better than pre-Johnny?
Turns out Hill completed something like 40 passes. Only 3rd QB in SEC history to accomplish that.

In related news: Vandy just flat out sucked.
We've already covered that dogshit pick in the post above.
Sumlin has the Leach curse to overcome. Take your Air-Raid and BEAT a real defense with it. All "power" offenses, running or throwing, can be countered by a great defense. It's a long way to December A&M.

Your lips to God's ear. I've no idea as to what the "new" Longhorns will bring tonight. North Texas won 9 games and their bowl game last season. They'd love nothing more than to come to Royal-Memorial Stadium and deliver the upset. I can only hope Strong's staff has come in and taught these kids how to tackle (finally).
