Box office hits thread
Let's try to change the tone a bit around here. Lately I've taken an interest in watching movies, not just porn but i mean actual new cinema releases. I'd like to get a thread going where we can make recommendations about new releases and what are the must see new releases or what movies appear to be good but turn out to be total flops!
Yesterday I saw Ride Along and that was some funny shit! I strongly recommend that movie. Kevin Hart is hilarious and Ice Cube does his usual tough guy act with sarcasm. The movie is real damn good it sold out, I had to buy tickets on Fandango.

I'm hyped to see the 300 sequel that's coming out. The first was good for a bunch of carnage but still carried a good story.

I've seen.....
Runner Runner
12 Years A Slave
Dallas Buyers Club
Lone Survivor
American Hustle
Out of the Furnace
The Wolf of Wallstreet
Rush
I enjoyed every one of them.
I thought Dallas Buyers Club was damn good as well as The Wolf of Wallstreet.
The W. o W. man it was something else. If all of that really happened..... Ridiculous. It's got some funny stuff in it.

I have to say I am looking for Robocop remake. Hopefully Hollywood gets it right, they don't have a good track record.

Big sci fi, fantasy, and action fan (no chick flicks for this chick), so am looking forward to some of the movies mentioned above, and the remake of Godzilla this summer, which looks like it will demolish the 1998 Matthew Broderick version like the big lizard stomped Tokyo.
Other flicks I won't miss this year:
I, Frankenstein
The Banshee Chapter
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Transcendence
The Quiet Ones
Maleficent
Edge of Tomorrow
How to Train Your Dragon 2
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Jupiter Ascending
The Legend of Hercules .... and....
Hercules
Poltergeist
Dracula Untold
Interstellar
Into the Woods
Pompeii
Expendables 3

Recently a great little independent horror movie produced in Ireland (and theatrically released in Europe) hit Netflix. Titled "Grabbers," it has an ample dose of wry wit exemplifiing the Irish sense of humor. The storyline: Residents of a secluded isle off the coast of Ireland deal with monsters who find alcohol poisonous, so if everybody DRINKS enough at the island's sole pub, they stay safe.
I mean, how could I NOT watch that!

I don't give a shit about new releases because I'll never see one...not willing to endure crowds. If it ain't on Netflix, then I will never see it.
This one is on Netflix: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0787442/ . By that I mean they mailed me a DVD and the fucking post office actually managed to deliver it. "The Attack", best flick I've seen since "In Bruges" 2 years ago.
