Trump is Guilty of Being Dumb... Any Takers?
I doubt that a single Right-leaning person here will admit as much. I'll probably get a "you used 'dumb' out of context, it means unable to speak", before I get an admission that Trump was dumb to bring up Biden in THE telephone call with the Ukraine President.
why did Trump do it? forget quid pro quo or anything sinister. let's say the call was "beautiful" and completely legal.
Gulliani was on the Biden case for months. why put yourself in hot water by speaking about Biden? what could you possibly gain? even if Biden is guilty as sin, what would a Ukraine investigation do to hinder Biden in 2020? people already have their minds made up about the impropriety or not.
the fact that Hunter was on the Board is guilt to me. I don't care if Biden Sr.'s "Son of a Bitch" quote was about eliminating a Prosecutor who was after Biden's son. the left says it had nothing to do with Hunter.. I don't know.. doesn't look good to me, but I don't know.. I haven't seen hard evidence to prove it.
but back to Trump.. why put yourself in possible trouble? you had Gulliani on the case. nobody was rankled that Trump's personal Lawyer was doing his thing on behalf of Trump. why escalate? why not beat the shit out of Biden in next years' debates, if Joe won the nomination? Trump could and would do that easily. why? why?

Trump is a shoot from the hip business type - to whom the "Deal" is the ultimate aim.
Not a politician.
Not restrained in his instinct to tweet first and careful consideration later.
as are all humans - Trump is a flawed human.
Still better in his achievements as POTUS than socialist H.... would have performed.
IMHO

I'm going to take that as a weak "yes", which is probably the best I can expect to see.. anyone else brave enough to admit Trump was stupid?

Reckless, Not Dumb?
The difference between trump and the dim-retards is the dim-retards try to cover their trails and maintain plausible deniability. Trump doesn't care.
Look at the dossier scandal - hildebeest instructed her dirty tricksters to cover their tracks well. So the campaign money went to a law firm (Perkins Cole) to a political research firm (Fusion GPS) that outsourced the work to a British ex-spy (Christopher Steele) who then paid off Russian counter-intel agents to produce the dossier full of lies and dirt on trump. No wonder it took Republicans months to uncover all the details of this sordid activity.
You're right, trump probably should have left it to Rudy to smoke out the Biden-Ukraine story. Yes, he could have waited to use it later during the 2020 campaign. But if he did that, wouldn't the fake-news media just ignore the story? Maybe he calculated that the only way to bring it to the world's attention was to be reckless and directly solicit the help of Ukraine's new President in a phone call. Sometimes you have to risk a scandal in order to expose one.

Trump is far from dumb. But Trump is a Narcissist and Narcissist unfortunately don't use good common sense at times.

probably.. but what was there MORE to gain by instructing the Ukraine president to investigate? nothing. Gulliani said in March that he was going to snuff out the story.. why did he cancel the Ukraine trip? he might have made inroads then.
fact is, the "fake news media" is not on Board with the Dossier scandal.. I have heard it over and over, but the "left has never mentioned it, period. not even to debunk. it's like the story circulates among the right as a gag.
both sides listen to their own "truth", and weed out reports that attempt to say something different.

Personally, I don't think anybody who makes it to the Presidency is stupid. I do think that Trump fumbles into things better left to others. And then it just gets blown out of proportion. If I saw that Trump really did something to endanger our democracy - I would not support him. Yes, I cringe sometimes when he says things that are off. However, I have never seen any nefarious intent on his part to put our country in danger. In fact, just the opposite.

Are we talking Chang Tran dumb? Or Assup dumb?
I characterize it as not being a career DC politician dumb.
What I don't get is Rudy having to go on CNN to address it. The IG basically said "nothingburger." The dims obviously have plants in the WH.
Why not let the whistleblower go forward and fire her for leaking to the press? Or prosecute her? Even if she goes to Congress that's another two weeks off an already tight impeachment schedule.
I'm thinking the WH found out she was a plant or a leaker and the Dims needed to protect her.

Far from it.
When this plays out, it will show he played the Democrats for being the sleazbags they are.
President Trump knows exactly what he is doing. He has been doing it his entire life.
