Where to Eat

Houston is one of the world's great food cities. From fine dining to local ethnic neighborhood spots, you can find whatever you need. Restaurants are everywhere, but the better places are concentrated in a corridor stretching from downtown directly west. There is also good dining in the outlying areas like the Woodlands and Sugarland.

Haven (Upper Kirby) - Seafood, southern
Tony's (Greenway plaza) - High-end Italian and French, society/celeb hangout
Mark's (Inner Westheimer) - New American cuisine
Hugo's (Inner Westheimer) - Real Mexican cuisine (not Tex-Mex)
Da Marco (Inner Westheimer) - Italian
Catalan (Washington Ave) - New American cuisine

Pappas Bros (Galleria) - Best steaks in town
Vic & Anthony's (Galleria) - Second best steaks
Strip House (Downtown) - Cool burlesque atmosphere
Sullivan's (Galleria) - Major pick-up spot

Mama Ninfa's (East Side) - Go-to spot for Tex-Mex

Go to either Pass and Provisions or Underbelly. Outstanding and few mention. Common Bond on Westheimer in the Monroe area is the greatest pastry place you will ever visit. Just to die for
