Hobby Budget in a tough Economy !!
The past couple of years has really been tough economically with little room to spare financially. Louisiana has fared better than many states during this downturn, but you can tell many people are not sure what is over the horizon with respect to their financial future. Daily you hear of more state budget cuts, lay-offs, furloughs etc. alot of the construction boom related to storm rebuilding is fizziling out, and there is a big question mark nationally of how Obama's medical policy and taxing policy are going to affect the economy. I am sure that many hobbiest are wealthy enough to a degree to afford to indulge as their heart contends, but many hobbiest are just everyday working joes trying to put a little on the side if possible to play when they can. How has the economy affected your ability to hobby, and are you concerned about your personal financial ability to hobbie as we move forward into the future???

well if you have limited funds you can do two things....
{1}start a "kitty" fund and donate any spare change/bills every chance you get..then "cash" it in when you get enough to have fun!
{2}research & find more reasonable rates with well reviewed reputable girls{lol}
But just remember even though you are limited on funds, you can still find fun!!!

Well the thing about most hobbiest Is that it has almost always been at the end of the budget.....for one reason or another..... but I think that its just makes the hobby better, because it forces you to do more reseach on where you spend you money, and what u spend ur money on...... were as a few years ago I wouldn't mind a bait and switch so much...but now I wouldn't risk it at all, now I will spend mine with someone a lil more reliable like dallas, april,or belinda.....instead of on bp

The downturning economy has spared me so far and I'm still chugging along thank goodness. Not sure about NOLA, but while the economy has impacted hobbiests up north, the same is true for providers as well. In fact, from what I've seen, the lousy economy has brought to hard-hit hobbiests more hobby choices (in essence offsetting loss in disposable income). A few examples would be: (1) more girls coming into the business; and 2) more rate offerings, such as quickies and HH's.

I agree in many markets you see professional women who are displaced running ads. I guess it shows you that a woman will do what she has to in tough times. I guess for the hobbiest it has also increased supply, so that helps keep the cost of a session reasonable. I have seen price wars about two times in the last year where providers in certain markets dropped their rates almost in half to compete. You also see alot of fresh MILF types out here coming onto the scene with really reasonable rates.

What a dick! Sorry "Wang." Couldn't help it. But...
I LOVE IT!!!!
I realized I over played last year. Every year I spend more than the year before and it bit me on the ass at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. Between slow paying clients and a slow start to the new year, playing was on a very limited basis, so I tapered off a bunch. The occasional cash paying job went straight to the hobby fund. A few bucks on the side here and there when pulling money out the ATM or depositing a client's check and I've saved up a few bucks. Now I'm very busy but I still have to budget and make sure I don't play too much. I don't like owing Uncle Sam on 4/15 because I spent quarterly payments on this.

Doesn't the hobby come first?
Just put enough hobby funds to the side before you pay your other bills. Entergy, COX cable, and AT&T have never given me a BBBJ or offered me greek. I say let them wait on their money. When they start offering me gfe then I'll pay them first.

The way I see it, I need to hobby to save money. I left the wife and all of a sudden I had so much more monthly spending money!! WTF?! No more mulitple car notes, no more expensive shopping sprees to buy useless crap, fired the maid, fired the pool guy, amazon has not sent anything to my house in years, no credit card bills, no overlavish parties being thrown, etc. etc. My ex thought that money was the root of all evil and it was her duty to get away from the family as soon as possible. Child support, piece of cake, same amount every month. (I hope her lawyer does not see this)
I always have heard it is cheaper to keep them than leave them, prolly a woman that started that rumor. I operate on a monthly budget, if I did not budget for that expense I do not spend, the question for my ex was do we have the money right now and if we don't can I charge it!! I was nickel and dimed on monthly charges like crazy, Just not having that anymore pays for my hobbying. But I still budget and I move slowly, hell I just started doing extended sessions. Looking forward to my first overnight, and that's after a year of hobbying.
No, the economy has not effected my income, in fact it kinda helps, just the business I am in. But I did create a budget for my hobby and I stick to it. But I am a very lucky and blessed man to have the opportunites that I have and I try hard not to forget that.

It has hit me hard! I love my kids, but boy has school bills gone through the roof! After them, I do put some aside to play. Now I have to save to play, where I use to be able to just play! Also I have never felt guilty before, but now, with things tight, I sometimes think that I should be spending what little I save on kids, not me. Never use to feel that way! Also, I use to roll with the punches if a session went bad, paid the lady anyway and moved on. Now I try to pay closer attention to whom I see to minimize the risk!

why fire the maid or the pool guy? don't they make your life a bit easier to do those chores?

No kidding especially if the maid was hot. You were paying her to clean the house already. You could have slipped her a little extra sumthin sumthin. Never know what you might have got.
