That moment you realize there is, for lack of a better term, a chemically induced connection with a member of the opposite sex.

It is strangely exciting at age 6. (Especially when she is older, you know, a teenager.) haha!

Electrically intense in the early teens years.

Late teens and most of the 20's are spent trying to capture those moments, as if our very existence depends on them. It's intoxicating, all consuming, it's affirmation times 1000!

It seems, as we get older, none of this changes. The feelings remain. They spark memories of connections past. Times when we acted with reckless abandon. Times when we understood no action was required. Even the times we knew action would/could be detrimental to our health.

The other day I was leaving a convenience store in West Little Rock. The girl behind the counter was quite cute. Blonde hair, blue eyes, as friendly as can be...I soon found out she was very receptive to my innocent flirting. The way she dragged her fingers across the back of my hand while returning my change; The way she asked if I would be back the following day was all I needed to confirm my imagined connection.

By the time I reached my vehicle, she and I had already had a few dinners, gone out several times, even had a two week fling! She had reminded me of girl waaay back when...

Being twice her age, (at least) I drove off thinking about a time when I would have tried to get to know her.

Reading the op I am left to think, this shit, this shit never gets old!
