threADS are frowned upon because they disturb the balance that the owners sought for providers when they set up the Provider Advertising Guidelines. You are allowed one ad in a Provider Ads Forum in up to 5 cities every 7 days. You are also allowed one ad in the Weekend Lineup Forum from Thursday at 9:00 am until Sunday at 9:00 pm. In other words each Verified Provider is allowed 2 ads in a given 7 day period. threADS can give one provider an "additional ad" in the given 7 day period and if one can do it, then all can. If that happenned then the Coed, ISO, Sandbox, etc Forums would be flooded with threADS.
While we (Staff) are pretty lenient with regard to threADS, some members seem to be really bothered by them and will consistently hit the RTM button when they see what they feel is a threAD. If someone is consistently stepping over the line, then we will steer them back on the proper path!!
