Default Astros;

I recieved a text from sports 610 that Drayton McLane who has own the Astros since 1992 has reportedly hired an investment banking firm to help him sell the team for a reported $800 million dollars;
Does anybody remember what he bought the team for??
Do you think a new owner will help them get back to some good baseball??

2007 the team was valued at 450 million by Forbes.
The Rangers just sold for 590 Million.
500 - 550 is probably a reasonable amount.
800 is laughable.

It all depends who all he hires to evaluate, and acquire, talent. Simply spending more money is a sure way to failure.

Sounds like he's prepping us for yet another ... yawn.... stellar year. At least he's trying to sell.... yeah right.

After the playoffs, how could any owner not SPEND $$ ON GOOD PITCHING!!!!????

And do not Uncle Drayton, do not bring that jackass Pettite back here again. He should not have said what he said about the Rocket. You don't do that to a teammate, ya' hear that Tony Parker??!!! Jackasses!!

A new owner would be great.Maybe we could get some one who is not afraid to spend money like the late George Steinbrenner.

Like I said, Mark Cuban has wantes to own an MLB team for a while. He made a run at the Cubs and showed up for the Rangers. Given that Dallas and Houston are much closer than Dallas and Chicago, I would think he'd be interested.

Apparently, Mark Cuban told a reporter that he wasn't interested in purchasing the team. Hope he has a change of heart. he'd be perfect for this organization.

I am a little leery about him answering questions already. It would seem like MLB would not want any potential owners expressing their interest in public before Kaiser Selig makes his choice.

It'd be a shame if he didn't at least get in the running.

$700 to $800 million with the Comcast broadcasting deal kicking in in 2012.
