Default 8.5%

8.5% CPI. Unreal. The highest number in over 40 years. Senile Biden strikes again !!!!!!!!!!

The CPI has now reached 8.5%, the highest level in over 40 years. Wages are only up 5.6%, so any earnings from American workers are being completely wiped out by inflation.

CPI says housing costs rose 5.0% last 12mos. Wrong. CPI would be 12.0% using real-world NAR housing data.

Ok, blame Biden on the inflation. Fine. But when companies only give everyone a 3% or less raise, but their C-suites are getting upwards of 30%, but also lobby to keep the minimum wage down, who's at fault?

Minimum wage means 'This is the minimum we legally have to give you, because if we could legally pay you less, we would'

Inflation is 8.5%, wages went up 3%, CEOs went up 30% and made their companies raise their prices more than 3%.

Who's at blame for making the average American's life harder, berry?

The thread is on inflation. Stay on topic please.

Your attempt to change the subject to minimum wage is pathetic given that in 2020 per the BLS the percentage of workers earning the minimum wage was 1.5 percent in 2020 and is likely even lower now.

Now back on topic please

Discussing minimum wage is related to inflation, because the $7.25 that people make under minimum is effectively 8.5% less buying power, BECAUSE of inflation.

The two are inherently linked, so don't pretend that it isn't.

Regardless of minimal wage, wages themselves have NOT gone up 8.5% - except for people who are already at the upper end of the spectrum.

Again - you are OFF TOPIC. This thread has nothing to do with minimum wage. So quite breaking the rules and trying to hijack this thread. Start your own thread if you want to whine about minimum wage

Inflation impacts everyone, no matter how young or old or what they earn - as everyone is paying 8.5% more for goods and services thanks to Senile Biden

A summary of Senile Biden's excuses for his own ineptitude

Inflation broken down by month/"excuse":

2021
Oct = 6.2% "transitory"
Nov = 6.8% "greedy corporations"
Dec = 7.0% "supply-chain bottlenecks"

2022
Jan = 7.5% "supply-chain bottlenecks"
Feb = 7.9% "oil prices"
Mar = 8.5% "Putin price hike"

Who will Senile Biden blame next?

Discussion of wages (including what CEOs make, including the minimum legally allowed to be paid) is relevant to inflation.

If a bottle of milk is $4, and you work non-minimum wage at $9 an hour, that milk costs you 44 minutes to buy.

If a bottle of milk at $4 goes up 8.5%, it now costs 4.34. If you work not-minimum wage at $9 an hour, that same milk now costs you 48 minutes to buy.

If you were lucky to get a 3% raise to now be paid 9.27 an hour, the milk that costs 4.34 costs you 46 minutes to buy.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but am trying to continue a discussion on the subject that is a little more deep than BERRRRR BIDEN BAD INFLATION BAD

... Nah, Berry... I don't think O-56 is trying to hi-jack
the thread... maybe just trying to make his argument is all.

How we gonna have good discussions unless people can give
their opinions? .... Just sayin'

Wages are up, but inflation is rising faster than wages. Inflation is wiping out all the gains in higher wages. So there’s that.

Again - this thread has NOTHING to do with minimum wage. That is what you have mentioned in all 3 of your posts

If you would have simply mentioned what Bam did - that Wages are up, but inflation is rising faster than wages. Inflation is wiping out all the gains in higher wages - then that would be relevant to this thread. In fact I noted that in the initial post

But you persist in trying to introduce class warfare into this thread. Feel free to start your own if you want to do that. This thread is about inflation and how EVERY American is losing buying power
