Supreme Court Nominee
Obama nominates Merrick Garland, a respected judicial figure in the courts, respected even by some Repoobs.
However, Yertle the Fucking Turtle says no way no how nope nope are we gonna hold hearings to decide whether he's worthy.
How is it Yertle, a douche bag Pube, can seize the duty of the President and deny this hearing? Last I checked, Obama has 10 months remaining on his term...a President serves a 4-year term, not 3 years, 2 months and he would actually be shirking his duty to NOT nominate somebody.
Hey Yertle...FUCK YOU and the other SHIT Pubes. This will bite you in the ass...

the american people gave control of the senate to.....
what did obama say when he was ramming obamacare down everyone's throat?
you know, at that meeting for show with republicans when every time they tried to say something he cut them off and rambled on, talking aloud to himself with such command and pride?
oh yeah, that's it, I remember now, he said, "elections have consequences"

See if Medicare will pay for the surgery to have your head removed form your ass ! Look at all the times in the past that your lying liberal heroes made statements on the floor of the Senate pushing to deny Republican Presidents their constitutional duty to nominate a candidate for the Supreme Court. Now that the shoes on the other foot and the obstruction is being done TO a lying liberal President, you lying libs start frothing at the mouth ! And since you failed civics, the Senate isn't a rubber stamp for whatever a President wants. While it WAS that way when Dirty Harry Reid and the dumbascraps had control of the Senate, twisting Senate rules to achieve the President and THEIR agenda, the Senate is a CO-EQUAL branch of government. Maybe in your post-surgery rehab, you can study up on how our government is supposed to work.

Merrick Garland needs to answer one question. "What is your stance on the 2d Amendment"?
Anything short of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed", .......show him the door.

We've had this debate already. People point to the fact that 150 years ago they decreased the size of the court temporarily to block the nomination of a president they were about to impeach. So this action by the Republicans is totally reasonable and common.
The reality is that they don't want hearings because then the people of the US will see how reasonable of a choice this is and how qualified he is for the position, and the republicans would have to reveal themselves as the childish partisans they are by blocking him for the next 10 months. It's better for them to pretend that the president shouldn't get to nominate people in the last year of his presidency because some people will slurp this kool-aid down, and then turn around and say how much they love the constitution.

So what you're saying is - Senators Biden, Schumer and Reid all made their beds, but they don't have to sleep in them?

I'm sorry, when did they fail to give a nominee even a hearing? I think I missed that.
Although, to be fair, the republicans haven't denied the hearing yet.

I think they should give him a hearing, in case Mr. Trump doesn't win and Hillary puts an outright communist on the court.

if she gets elected, yes there will be consequences, and I wont have to remember those words, they are before me
this is a watershed election for the country
perhaps that's what's said every four years, but after 8 years of obama and the mindset of so many people now who lack proper education and understanding or a work ethic or any sort of self reliance and are full of greedful covetousness, its critical
the 2nd law of thermodynamics speaks of order to disorder, or dissipation.
this entropy holds for countries as well I suspect

I believe the constitution is being followed. its not a question but that the senate has its constitutional privileges
if not, obama should file a lawsuit
that's what the congress or the states or the little sisters of the poor have to do

You're starting to look pretty stupid right now. The US CONSTITUTION says that the president shall nominate a person to the bench. That is a requirement and not a suggestion. However, the CONSTITUTION also says that "with the advise and consent" of the Senate shall judges be appointed. It is the Senate who approves or disapproves, not the President. The president is in the inferior position of finding candidates that satisfy the Senate.
Plus, the Biden Rule from 1992;
"Once the political season is under way, action on a Supreme Court nomination must be put off until after the election campaign is over,"
As President of the Senate (one of the duties of the Vice President) Biden's words carry weight no matter how partisan or stupid.
