I need to write an expression for EDI in order to pull information from an access database

DBLookupEx("AccessDB", "SELECT ShipIns FROM pub.ord WHERE CustNum=XXXXX AND CompNbr=2 AND OrdNum='"& daly156out.H01.OrdNum &"'","NeedHS" )

Should I add a REFCOUNT=2 as a condition or should I add that into the value?

I am also setting up a VM but on version 6.0 it doesnt have isolated network but I need to have both servers online at the same time with the same IP addresses as well as name. Is there a way I can do this without having a name or ip address conflict?

Should I bridge the networks and use a different subnet on one or can I control that from the bridge? Would a router be able to be configured?

Software or hardware bridge seems how I don't do this all the time I am going with software I think.

Using software I was thinking of building it using an old computer with linux and a switch.

Cool story, man. I think you should fire your phasers at the dilithium crystals and the energy will be absorbed and then you can get the enterprise out of there on impulse power.

Don't forget to leave it unplugged for 10 seconds to ensure success.

AND! We would consider it CHEATING if you simply unplugged the power cable at the device and didn't grovel around on the floor behind your desk to find the power cord where it connects to the outlet.

AND like Whatstheplay said, leave it unplugged for a full 10 seconds and if you cannot check on a reliable timepiece while you are in the "doggie/catcher" position under your desk waiting for the 10 seconds to pass, then bring a timer with you.

Also, I have a friend who is in "management" and he needs to ask an iPhone "networking" question for some of his girfrenz.

Hilarious! You guys are brutal. Hamster TOFTT...

Gotyour6 if you really have coding syntax issue and not just giving the hamster interview questions. AccessDB depends on the structure of the DB table you are trying to pull from and your expected return. REFCOUNT is that a surrogate key?

"I am also setting up a VM but on version 6.0 it doesn't have isolated network but I need to have both servers online at the same time with the same IP addresses as well as name. Is there a way I can do this without having a name or ip address conflict?"

They will conflict out all the time and compete for network time... Either isolate the networks using a subnet or VPN or DMZ Alias /names don't really matter they just make it easier to have dynamic IP and are convenient when coding interfaces.

"Should I bridge the networks and use a different subnet on one or can I control that from the bridge? Would a router be able to be configured?"

Software is the way to go here if you get it wrong you can always delete and start over. I recommend using hardware that is designed for networking though like an old router preferably something with a few Ethernet ports and a transmitter that supports the wifis. If this is for personal use and not work here is a little project I did when I had free time on my hands: https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installation.

Following the instructions of course...

Precisely why I didn't answer any of those questions. Thanks ADream. I thought I might be able to help providers, that's all.

I would advise any provider who needs help with anything to contact Geek Squad. They're the best. you can call them go to the store or they'll come to you. we are amazing and help me out with everything. And they're affordable!

I wouldn't recommend no provider to take help from any guy who hobbies.

I posted my opinion & advice for PROVIDERS Like myself. based on my experience.

how you came up with that conclusion it was an AD is beyond me but if giving my opinion and advice like you did and many others did makes it an AD then I'm team Geek Squad lol

As a network engineer and system administrator... Geek Squad has had a lot of bad press over the years. I would never recommend them. Google them & shower cams as an example.
IT professionals are by nature, privy to sensitive information.
Use ANY of them at your own risk, but know that the majority of us are aware of our role in the industry & people's lives.
