Would John Wayne shave his balls?
Ok, we know that porn stars, starting with gay porn stars, shave everything; chest, legs, pubes. Tell me the truth, could you explain to your father or mother let alone one famous Texan why a mature man would shave more than his face (or maybe his head). Have we become that feminized? Are there any women that like men anymore?
And what would your S.O. say if you started doing that all of a sudden?

NONSENSE!!! John Wayne was so tough his ball-hair would break any razor in existence; he was the Chuck Norris of his day! And although I would love to claim him for our great state, he was an Iowan, and I think he grew up in California, but someone will need to fact check me on that one. Also can you imagine if he never changed his birth name from Marion Robert Morrison? "The brave cowboy Marion rides in to save the day..." It just wouldn't have worked... In summary, I agree that shaving is too feminine for my taste, but I am not above keeping things trimmed.

Not sure that this is precisely to the point here, but let's not forget that the Duke wore a hairpiece from at least the mid 50s on. By the time he did 'Green Berets' he was bare as a billiard ball on top. So I don't necessarily bank on him refusing to play games with hair elsewhere. If only Maureen O'Hara was still around; she might be able to tell us.
