What is the biggest existential threat to the United States of America?

Considering that the United States has changed in size, scope, population, minority population and the number of states in the short time it has been in existence one could argue that the United States is more a type of government than a physical entity.

I think that the most existential threat to our government is the inability for our government leaders to stick to fair elections, distribution of power and the ability to compromise for the good of the whole.

If they didn't have trump, it would just be someone else's line of bullshit.
Their morals are almost non-existent. Truth means nothing to them.

I picked nuclear war, probably because I've been watching the Netflix series "Turning Point, The Bomb and the Cold War."

I definitely missed some. Yours is a good one Txdot. Maybe you could generalize it as "bad governance."

I would say WW IV is top of my mind these days, as I am highly likely to have descendants involved in it. WW III seems a forgone conclusion. Though something biblical sure seems in the mix as well - especially with the Biden TransEaster shit in our faces,

Central Texas cities have been growing in population much faster than other areas of the country. New schools are needed and more facilities/infrastructure are needed to service the massive increase in population. Major impact on taxes. My main concern is WATER! Some cities are already under severe water restrictions. the water resources were not built with this population increase in mind.

I agree. They're temporary. The biggest threat is the break down of society. Where by the elites control way to much of the average person's lives. That involves but isn't limited to Finances, Healthcare, Education, Media, Foreign and Domestic Policy. Frankly that's all I could think of at the moment,I am sure there is more.

People forget the reason we have he governmental architecture that we do: It is found in The Preamble to the Constitution.

I share your concern, and sure hope you're wrong about WW III. We've got to find a way to get along with Russia, China, North Korea, and any other country that might start a nuclear war.

ICU's post is relevant to this too. We should have freedoms in this country, established in the Constitution, that keep us from getting steamrolled by the political class and, to a lesser degree, other elites. But oftentimes things don't work that way.
