Bars open again?!
I am seeing on some other sites that the the bars have opened. BC had a status change to yellow this week so I guess that’s why they could open. But we’ll see if they can stay open. I’m excited for them to open but will probably hold off going until next year.

Yes, most bars opened on Friday, Oct 2. Adelita, Chicago, and most other zona clubs are open in their regular space. For some reason Hong Kong is still closed. The meseros there are not happy. Hong Kong is still using Bar Corea and their Cascadas space.

I saw that too. I’m sure they’ll open soon. By next weekend at the latest

NOw hearing that HK will open tomorrow. Would like to know why they didn’t open with the rest of the bars if anyone hears.

Note that they still close at midnight. I imagine everyone will move up to the Cascadas floors at that time.

Somebody told me that we are not able to cross the border at this time. Is this true?

You can cross the border. You will probably have to buy a "visa" (not really a visa, but a tourist document called an FMM). Used to be you could get a 7-day FMM free when you walked across the border. Reports are now they are making tourists buy a 6-month FMM for $30. probably just a way for border control to line their pockets. They may ask you why you are crossing. Just say you have a dentist appointment or something. Some guys suggest actually printing out the name and address of a clinic in case they press further, but I don't know if that's necessary.
Getting back into the US is no issue. If you are an American citizen, they have to let you back in -- although they can make it a pain if you don't have your passport.
