GTGs
Back in the day of TOS, a couple times a year there seemed to be GTGs. I am not sure how they were organized or funded but they seemed to be pretty good private parties. Was wondering everyone’s thoughts on these and if it is worth the effort to try and organize one.

I went to a ton of GTG and none of them were ever organized by DG. I think she organizes a lot of them for the girls only. All of the ones I went to were organized by Charliegirl, she has a real nack for planning these things. They always came off great.

Always seemed like a good idea on the surface, but then I realized I didn't really want to see what the rest of you degenerates looked like. I was afraid that every time I walk into an appointment I wouldn't be able to get it out of my head that one of you just left.

Back in the day, PI organized them. They were pretty big. He would rent entire establishments. Usually on a Tuesday night. After the Cleveland bust, he had to stop doing them. CharlieGirl picked up the slack. She did it for years. Picnics, theme parties and some smaller GTGs at bars. But the hobby community isn’t as close knit as it once was. Me, Stig, Chizz, BSer would have lunch or meet for drinks. But haven’t done that in over a year.

I remember we used to take up the whole upstairs at Rowlands in the strip. They were always great fun.

I remember those too. They were a lot of fun. Sometimes
Too much. After that I remember a couple at the flats on Carson.

It's a different era. I don't see this type of thing being popular anymore.

I went to several in Cbus and they were always fun. With each one the attendance seemed to drop, until it was just a handfull. I hate to say this but the last two I went to, most all the ladies were fat or ugly, as well as the guys. Depends upon who you ask, which one I was or both...lol

My ECCIE Reviews

We still have them...sans "hobbyists" usually. Y'all add extra legal risk. Hosting is expensive. If we charge a fee now-a-days it could be charged against us. (No I'm not going into detail...it's long and complicated...and I paid for the info and simply do not have time to explain)
The last public gathering I had for both sex workers and "hobbyists" was at a houseless camp. We brought garbage bags, gloves, hand sanitizer. Grilled dogs and burgers and helped houseless folks clean up their space...
I have no idea why so many "hobbyists" canceled at the last minute?
Also...bambino likes to bully and cyberstalk if he doesn't get an invite.

I went to a bunch of Indy's GTGs and silver mine parties in Pittsburgh, Columbus and Cleveland. They were a lot of fun in many ways. I enjoyed meeting providers I was interested in seeing in a casual setting. I enjoyed meeting fellow hobbyists and swapping stories. I've become good friends with several other hobbyists. I golf and play poker with some hobbyists I met at GTGs almost weekly for over 10 years now. Most of the guys are good, normal dudes.
That said, there were quite a few Star Wars Cantina scene type characters that would show up at them. Personally, I found them to be quite amusing and a big boost to my self-esteem. LOL!
I don't see any possibility of GTGs coming back. There just isn't the sense of community anymore and everyone is reluctant due to the current laws.
