Default Etiquette on vouching for a friend

If I have a friend that would like to get into the hobby, can I contact a provider that I have met before and let her know that he will be contacting her? I would simply be vouching for him that he is a stand up guy and not with LE. I just want to know any of your thoughts on this, because he would not have any references.

Any thoughts, ladies?

Really up to the provider to decide but does not hurt to ask.

BH...if you've had a long term relationship with a provider and she trusts you, it wouldn't hurt to ask. However, if he's a "friend" to you...I would make sure he understands all the rules of the hobby and about being respectful...as your reputation may be at stake with introducing him to the hobby.

I had a situation where I agreed to meet a "friend" of a friend of mine. My friend never gave him a crash course on the hobby. His friend called me a couple of weeks after...scheduled to meet on X day...he had to cancel...no problem.

Tried to schedule again...he forgot his appointment...ok, I thought...he's a newbie. Scheduled again...showed up an hour late...sorry, he had something come up and didn't think it would be a big deal since it was an evening date...and didn't have time to go by the bank...and only had half of the donation. Of course, he told me he would make it up to me the next time.

So, you see...please make sure he knows all the rules...good-luck!

Friends don't let friends hobby.

Let him find his own way.

If he short circuts the process he's gonna think YOU did or didn't do something you should have.

My .02.... Mention the site and tell him all he needs to know is held within.

After that he's a newbie.

It's all shits and giggles until an SO turns up, or he does something stupid to tarnish your good rep, or he pisses off LIKKI NIKKI LOL.

Enuff risk in the hobby already, why increase the chances?

Unless of course he's a billionaire... then tell him about "Sympleman's Hobbying Course for Loaded Dummies 101"

Just IMHO.
