Default Poll says Most Registered Voters Support Mass Deportation

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/cb...ts/ar-BB1nXbFn

A mass round up is unlikely for many reasons, not being legal is one of them, lack of resources is another.

Yet there is a significant segment of the electorate that wants "something" to be done. WE cannot exist as a Nation with the current unrestricted influx of foreign nationals. Thse people have sll jumped the line on folks back home who have followed the rules.

My family waited their turn "in line" to get the proper paperwork together that would allow them to come to the USA and stay. My father waited most of his childhood years for a visa to emigrate to the USA. He was sent to live with an uncle when he was 17, back in 1935, to escape Nazi persecution. Of those family members that did not come over, half did not survive WW-II.

My Grandmother survived a concentration camp and endured the liberation and occupation of the communists. She was allowed to leave in 1965. As a child, I recall that for many years she had to re-register as a "resident alien" annually at the post office. Eventually she got a green card and later on became a citizen.

The CBO calculates that over the next 10 years 7 trillion will be added to the GDP due to immigration. Deportation will cause a decrease in GDP. Reality is population growth in the US has stagnated over the last 20 years.

Immigration is the future of the United States. Whether anyone likes it or not. We need to create laws and institutions to assist in the integration of these new people into our society. Vilifying them and deporting them only makes the situation worse. I can get on board with a plan to speed up the adjudication of asylum claims. It’s the sensible thing to do. But all this requires legislation to pass. Building a wall to keep people out is not going to work because it doesn’t stop the problem in the first place.

If you want to stop the problem of illegal immigration you need to fund and build institutions to keep the ones we want and to deport the ones we don’t. We also need to increase the number of immigrants we allow in. Right now the system we have in place to do this function is failing under the deluge.

Maybe after democrats win the election we can get some legislation passed that will help with the problem.

Building a wall is total waste of money and time. It is just something trump wants to peddle to the magats. They are easily fooled and while building a wall is expensive, it is easier than tackling the real problems. Trump is too dumb to solve any of the real problems.

That all looks good on paper but the reality is there are stupid people running the immigration scene a lot can go wrong and most likely will.

Well, TEXDOT-GUY is right in a way . . .immigration has always been the future of the USA.

One side of my family came here from Italy the decade or so before WW-I. My father's side of the family (just him alone) came here in the last years before WW-II. My Wife's father came from Venezuela in the 1920s when his father had business in the USA. My wife's maternal side came here in the 1600s when New York belonged to the Dutch. . . .they were the only folks to not go through the screening at Ellis Island. These folk all arrived in an above board fashion with full knowledge of he is controlling authorities.

WE do, as a Nation, need to have regular infusions of immigrants. But what we have today is an unregulated, uncontrolled and untracked influx of foreign nationals by the millions. Many of these people are considered undesirable in their homelands. Many of these people have exotic illnesses endemic to their home countries, but essentially unknown or rasr here. Some have skills and education that could contribute to our society, but the great majority do not. A significant proportion were career criminals at home and continue to prey on society here in the US. It is a sure thing tht among the unknown, untraceable millions who have entered the country since 2020, there are organized sleeper cells of terrorists or special operations folks waiting orders from their various controllers at home.

I doubt you have any data to support your claims in the second paragraph. "undesireable in their homelands". "Exotic illnesses". "Career criminals at home and continue to prey on society here in the U.S." "Organized sleeper cells of terrorists".

Those who enter our country without specific skills can easily learn the skills needed to work in many fields -- construction, service industries, lawn services etc.

The demonization of immigrants, legal or otherwise, is not new. Politicians and strongmen have been classifying some people as different than others for time immemorial. The language being used here is a perfect example. Let’s take a look.

1: undesirables
2: sick / plague carriers
3: uneducated or stupid (subhuman)
4: criminals
5; terrorists / organized enemy

Did I miss any?

What Trump and his supporters are saying about immigrants is designed specifically to cause fear, to create a common enemy, and then use that fear to gain power or to keep power. I mean what’s better for convincing people to do your bidding but fear. And once they convince you of the enemy they tell you that only they can protect you.

Migrants are not the enemy. They deserve compassion and a chance for a better life. I’m not calling for an open border so please don’t say that I am. We need to understand that our society needs these immigrants and we need to support a system of immigration reform that puts more resources into controlling the influx of immigrants as well as integrating them into our society.

Mass deportation is not the answer. A path to citizenship is.

These people want to join our society. We don’t need to make the process easy. I think that they should work for it. But the process does need to exist. That process will never happen if we continue to elect people who refuse to work together to solve the problem. And that problem today is people like Trump, Greg Abbot and Ron Desantis. People who use the demonization of migrants to push their political careers.

It is my assumption and judgement that someone who is a criminal in their home country; someone who has committed crimes, not a political prisoner, that has been arrested and jailed . . .that person is considered to be undesirable in their homeland. No links but as the UFO enthusiasts say, "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." Listen to the news.

I agree with the rest of your punch list of undesirables:

People we should also consider to be "undesirable" here at home would be folks already identified on the terrorist watch list. Folks already sick with some exotic disease, parasite or condition are not desirable. People who want to come here and cannot show that they will not be dependent on social services are undesirable. People who exhibit an initial disregard for the laws of the United States are undesirable.

Again, no links or stats. This stuff is self evident.

Those who disregard this path to citizenship are jumping the line on those who follow the law.

With the exception of the Dutch colonials in the 1600s, every immigrant member of our family started their journey that way.

horse puckey. Anyone here can be deported easily... doesn't require round ups or anything else. Simply introduce requirements that any hospital receiving Fed $ requires the patient to show citizenship. Same with jobs, EBT cards, any state assistance, housing etc. within months of introducing that into law, most of the illegals will self-deport. Those that choose to remain, can be rounded up at home depot, jail etc. Outlaw so-called sanctuary cities in the same manner.... take the Feds coin, dance to teh Feds tune.

Final step end birthright citizenship.

None of this will happen of course. Unless we get a dictator in office, which the American electorate appears more and more willing to do. It's just a question of will that dictator be from the left or the right?

that's how America will fall. All of this silliness around Trump by the dems is setting the stage for a dictatorship.

I much prefer a representative republic, but that's not what liberals care about anymore.

UFO enthusiasts should not be your justification for not having facts about the topic you’re discussing. If the news is demonizing immigrants as you did in your previous post then maybe you should start watching a different news channel. You can’t win an argument with no links or statistics. You don’t provide any because there are no legitimate sources to back up your claims.

You are correct that not everyone utilized the proper procedure to make their way into the country. But not everyone is coming over the southern border either. A significant number of illegal immigrants are visa overstays.

But this problem isn’t new. It’s just gotten worse over time because of the refusal of the GOP to compromise on this issue.

Why don’t you do some research into the issue. Here’s a start.

You're right... a significant number are put on planes by the Feds and FLOWN directly into the US.

Were I a less temperate man, I'd call that Treason.
