Carlson's primary argument was this: "Before we enter into a single new war, there's a criterion that ought to be met: Our leaders should explain to us how that conflict will make the United States richer and more secure. There are an awful lot of bad people in this world, we can't kill them all. It's not our job. Instead, our government exists to defend and promote the interests of American citizens, period, that's why we have a government. So has the killing of Soleimani done that? Maybe. No one in Washington has explained how. Instead, like Ben Sasse, they're telling us what an awful person he was. He clearly was. So? That's irrelevant."

In a fiery anti-war segment, Fox News host Tucker Carlson questioned the motives behind attacking an Iranian leader when Republicans could choose "fixing problems" in the US.

Tucker's Middle Eastern "anti-war" posture is fairly well documented, just like Trump's, which Tucker recognizes. Tucker's anxiety over the current confrontation is inconsistent with his posture with respect to North Korean pressure put on by Trump. Hopefully, the Midget Murdering Punk pretending to run NK will go to school on Trump's resolve with the Iranian Butchers and take advantage of Trump when he's in a good mood and still talking! Otherwise the Midget may get the same treatment he gives his ex-girlfriends when they breakup with the flame thrower, except his painful demise won't last as long ... like the Iranian Terrorist Mass Murderer who has killed 100,000's if not millions of people in his reign of terror over the past 40 years while the past U.S. President sat on their hands for fear they would upset the Persians. Remember this? Or are you old enough?

I really hope the local chapter of Persian Militia don't show up at your apartment to exercise their freedom of assembly in your front yard! "We'll" see who is the "chickenhawk"!

Correct.
The only way to stop a dictator committed to overrunning all his neighbors and a few continents, is a stone cold whack.
Or the hot melting nuke.
Iran's leader is just another Hitler wanna be hiding behind the Muslim religion.

Why is it our problem? How many American lives and dollars should we waste to shut them down? Iran is 7000 miles away. If Tehran starts shooting off ICBM's they can't get much farther than Europe and Russia, and the Europeans and Russians don't seem to care. Well, fuck them all. Trump's right, we shouldn't be the world's policeman.

Who gives a shits? Now, suddenly, Trump does. His whole fucking empire depends on this gamble. Just like the Bushes. When the going gets tough, Bomb Iran...
Kinda makes a fella wonder why he hasn’t gone after the worst actors in the region. Iran isn’t the only one, you knows.

I agree with most of Tucker's points. Trump needs be careful on where he's going with this. I don't think Trump is going in that direction of war with Iran.
That Iranian general had to be taken out.
Trump just made a chess move in taking this guy out.
Its up to Iran on whether they back off or attack.
are they going to start a war over one man? this ain't 1915.

The same thing he did in northern Syria, leave. I'm not defending our betrayal of the Kurds. But the Iraqis don't want us there, so screw them. If Trump wants to bomb a few thugs on the way out, fine.

I've got no problem taking out terrorists and others who kill Americans btw. I'd rather see us strive to do it like the Israelis or Russians, that is, anonymously. The president should first get approval by something like the gang of eight in Congress, although the country has become so damn partisan you're probably not going to get four Democrats and four Republicans to agree on anything besides spending more of the taxpayers money.
