Default Sheriff encourages gun owners to arm and train

I have listened to the liberal politicians and media tell us that law enforcement is always in favor of new gun control laws. I think they were lying.

A Milwaukee sheriff is telling his people to arm and train. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Governm...Can-Fight-Back

Missouri sheriffs have announced that they will not enforce federal gun laws
http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2013/01/...-control-laws/

Other sheriffs have taken a stand to protect gun rights http://www.examiner.com/article/127-...oor-gun-search

Big joke. Law Enforcement nor the Millitary will ever abide by an unlawfull order to confiscate a righteous firearm. Obama already knows this, that could be why he wants to set up his own Civilian Millitary Service. All he'll be able to recruit will be a bunch of stupid dupes that the Millitary and LE will only laugh at. If the plan is to set up any program to confiscate guns, only stupid people will turn their weapons in. If anyone thinks they will try to go door to door in search for weapons they better be ready for some serious opposition. They can talk that crap all they want. Iam not worried about it, and neither should any other law abiding American citizen who owns a firearm.

If I recall correctly the sheriff's associations around the country shit-canned the last Federal legislation that attempted to require sheriff's departments to do background/criminal history searches for firearm purchases ... I can't wait until some "suit" shows up at the door of a Parish Sheriff in Louisiana and demands why he ain't doing his "job"! I hope the city Chiefs follow Sheriffs.

Don't bet on the military and civilian police forces to stand up against Obama.....I am not so sure that most police forces wouldn't confiscate guns if Obama was backed up by the Supreme Court.

Well if you envision them going Door to door demanding weapons thats a lot of man power. Not only that but a lot of body bags for both sides.

You mean like if it were the law?

The sheriff depts aren't against gun control, they are against being made responsible for the paper work and associated hassle that goes with it.

So now they pick and choose which laws to enforce.

If you don't see this slippery slope......................... ......

You never give an order that you don't expect to be carried out or that you are not willing to enforce.

Let me see, the feds want the Sheriffs to do their job....oh wait no they dont.....oh wait yers they do.
Well maybe they only want them to do some things that suppress the constitution while not ding things that flaunt our laws.

I find it interesting how the federal government wants local police to enforce some laws but not all of them.
Classic example is illegal aliens and Arizona.

The idea that the federal government can force local governments to do something without providing the funding is something that seems out of the power of the federal government. But we all know that they must do as they are told or they will have federal funds withheld from other programs.
Sounds more and more like organized criminal activity to me.

It is way past time to get control of the government. I say cut off the heads of this monster.

I have no problem with background checks. They do background checks in Louisiana. Louisiana is a very compliant state when it comes to Fed. Regulation on Gun sales. But if a firearm is in the store they'll sell it and you can buy it, as long as you have no Felony convictions.

Do any of you remember the media reporting about the FEMA guy who went to confiscate the fuel on the Parish-Sheriff's "fuel barn" in the immediate aftermath of Katrina in Louisiana .... short version ...

he left without any fuel after he tried to tell the sheriff he was "confiscating" it as a Federal officer!

Same with firearms .. same with paper work ... same with background checks.

They do it if they want to do it. They don't do it because they are required to do it.

There is a difference. Let's see how they play out on this go round.
