Default LOOK! Up in the air! It's a bird, it's a plane, NO, it's the royal canine BO!

BO! A strange visitor from a strange country (some say it's Kenya) in a never ending battle to spend taxpayer's money. BO! Who disguised as a mild mannered purebred Portuguese Water Dog travels from vacation spot to vacation spot by the most advanced means possible.

Its a Breitbart link, BB does not count as a legitimate news site around here. Commented and discussed numerous times.

So this did not happen, its pure fiction until CNN and NBC report it.

So now we have a mystery. How did Bo get from the White House to his lavish vacation spot? Santa Claus doing livery work in the summer?

I wanted to pass on this but CJ needs help again. Bo flies with own plane (including pilot, attendants, handler, support crew, etc.) and Barney flies with master. Do I have to explain the money aspect? Notice that Barry did not meet Bo, so he needed a car to get him to his vacation.

any idea how much the difference in DOCs are between Bo's ride and AF1 ?

one trip to the Olympics in AF1 complete with Presidential entourage, pays for Bo
s air service entirely .. and then some

I wanted to pass on that but you needed help

Is the position of the loonies that an Osprey was used solely for the purpose of transporting the dog to Martha's Vineyard?

Or, was that plane going there anyway and the dog caught a lift?

It's stupid shit like this that makes you look.....stupid.

And, that impugns the credibility of Breitbart.

The Osprey's have replaced the helicopters that the POTUS entourage used to use. And, I guess the first family wanted to bring their dog with them on vacation....for shame.

Nothing to see here, just another stupid post from the Professor....move along.

Looks like Barney was on-board with the President when he was flying, not much extra cost for that. But apparently Bo has to go via a separate aircraft, much extra cost to do that. I wonder why Bo couldn't just catch a ride with the Obamas when they left for vacation?

I think its great they take their dog on vacation with them, so do I. But I don't spend the extra money to have him shipped out separately, I carry him with me. Why does Bo get the special treatment and expense?

Default FDR's Fala.

There seems to be a Dimocrat theme here.

In 1940, FDR got a Scottish Terrier puppy from a friend of his family for Christmas. The puppy's name was Big Boy, but Roosevelt quickly changed his name to Murray the Outlaw of Falahill, after a Scottish ancestor. The dog was called Fala, for short, and he quickly became inseparable from the President. He traveled everywhere Roosevelt went and was named an honorary private in the U.S. Army. Fala was so loved by the President that the pooch got a bone every day on Roosevelt's breakfast tray. Being "First Dog" not only meant instant fame for Fala, but it also opened him up to limitless opportunities, including extravagant vacations.

Around the time FDR was running for his fourth term as President, he was also returning from vacation in the Aleutian Islands, in 1944. Fala was mistakenly left behind, and quickly rumors spread about how Roosevelt had used tax payer dollars to send a destroyer ship back to pick up his forgotten dog. FDR's Republican foes believed they could use the story to their political advantage, but Roosevelt had other ideas.

On September 23, 1944, in a speech to the Teamsters in Washington D.C., FDR said, "These Republican leaders have not been content with attacks on me, or my wife, or on my sons. No, not content with that, they now include my little dog, Fala. Well, of course, I don't resent attacks, and my family doesn't resent attacks, but Fala does resent them. You know, Fala is Scotch, and being a Scottie, as soon as he learned that the Republican fiction writers in Congress and out had concocted a story that I had left him behind on the Aleutian Islands and had sent a destroyer back to find him - at a cost to the taxpayers of two or three, or eight or twenty million dollars- his Scotch soul was furious. He has not been the same dog since. I am accustomed to hearing malicious falsehoods about myself - such as that old, worm-eaten chestnut that I have represented myself as indispensable. But I think I have a right to resent, to object to libelous statements about my dog."

The audience loved it, and so too did the pet loving American public. FDR's wife Eleanor later penned in her memoirs that her husband's "Fala Speech" turned the whole election around for Franklin. Roosevelt went on to defeat Thomas Dewey in the 1944 Presidential election, but he died less than three months into his term.

Fala attended Roosevelt’s funeral and then went to live with the widowed Eleanor Roosevelt at Val-Kill. Mrs. Roosevelt often mentioned Fala in her newspaper column, "My Day." Following her husband death, she wrote: "It was Fala, my husband’s little dog, who never really readjusted. Once, in 1945, when General Eisenhower came to lay a wreath on Franklin’s grave, the gates of the regular driveway were opened and his automobile approached the house accompanied by the wailing of the sirens of a police escort. When Fala heard the sirens, his legs straightened out, his ears pricked up and I knew that he expected to see his master coming down the drive as he had come so many times. Later, when we were living in the cottage, Fala always lay near the dining-room door where he could watch both entrances just as he did when his master was there. Franklin would often decide suddenly to go somewhere and Fala had to watch both entrances in order to be ready to spring up and join the party on short notice. Fala accepted me after my husband’s death, but I was just someone to put up with until the master should return."

Fala lived out the rest of his life in Eleanor's care. Fala died in 1952 and is buried next to the Roosevelts in the rose garden at Springwood.

No Timmie, no one said that the Osprey was ONLY for the dog. You said that and no one else. What I did say was that Bo did not make the trip with the first family. When you travel (which is on your dime) do you have your pet brought along later? You don't. No one does unless they are rich. Well Obama is paying for his dog with our money. Barnie traveled with Bush and that means no additional cost. Is this really that hard to see.

Since you brought up the support crew (warning Clinton slam ahead) The Clintons went to Wyoming on vacation one year because polling said that domestic vacation was needed (maybe Barack could poll the country) and they needed some lawn furniture. A C-130 was bringing the furniture and it crashed with the loss of the entire crew. No one from the White House attended the funerals. I remember this because the woman co-pilot was a Kansas City native. Fuck the heartless Clintons! No, this was not some big trap XNYKR.

As usual, you are an idiot while trying to look smart. Where did I say the Osprey was only for the dog numbnuts? I asked you because that was the implication...and continues to be.

Now....read slowly and move your lips while you do it you fucking mullett-head: Putting the dog on the Osprey didn't increase the cost of taking the Osprey to Martha's Vineyard because the Osprey was going to Martha's Vineyard anyway. Get it?

Braindead buffoon.
