I had a blast ..as usual .. but.this old lady does NOT like winter & I hate extremely cold weather & snow, so I am gonna head down south till first of March....AND I am gonna go to mardi gras too.

Mardi Gras 2017 falls on Tuesday, February 28

The most popular time to visit New Orleans is the extended weekend before Mardi Gras (February 24- 28). Come then and you'll be sure to catch the most popular parades, like Endymion, Bacchus, Zulu, Rex and all of the festive celebrations throughout the whole city.

Mardi Gras, or "Fat Tuesday," is the last day of the Carnival season as it always falls the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Most visitors will plan to arrive no later than Saturday, February 25, 2017 in order to enjoy an extended weekend of festivities.

Family Gras 2017 will be Friday, February 17 - Sunday, February 19

Plan early, most of the hotels are sold out.

JR...yep thanks for sharing//////////I used to live a street from the parade routes and it was always a blast...........now that I going back I had to find a room with a friend.prices on hotels skyrocket!
If anybody gets a chance,go to Mardi Gras.it is an AWESOME experience!

Well I have had to postpone my Mardi Gras plans...not any hotels I can afford..uggghhhhhh.....so I will be back home sooner than planned! Maybe next year I can make Mardi Gras.......early planning is always best bet..lol

well dang..karma bit me in a great way!! I am SOOOOO excited!! I got an upscale hotel in the French Quarter for 113 a nite for Mardi Gras...so I am going!! Yeaaa!!!!
