How many of you Tea Nuts thought it was a slam dunk?
How many of you are stunned that Mitt lost?
I really would have been stunned had Obama lost after all the polls there at the very end.
You guys were depending on Dick Morris for your election results. Dick Morris. Once he crawfished, didn't you know you were going to lose? .

I'm stunned. I figured it would be closer than the margin of victory but with Romney winning. Congrats on the win. I hope I'm wrong but I think we have seen the best this country will ever be and it will continue to decline. We can only wait and see what happens.

An honest reply budman. I actually feel your pain, a loss that one thinks is a sure victory is hard to swallow.
Congrats on being a adult and talking like a grown up.
If we could get the rest of our righties to be honest, we could have a meaningful debate about just what is best for the GOP and the Country as a whole.
I'm not sure if you are a Tea Nut or not but like I have been trying to tell JD, you can not win national elections with the Tea Party's ''all or nothing'' views.

Differing opinions on what direction this country should be going. I'm scared to death that Obama and the libs will continue the out of control spending and push us over the cliff.

Oh calm the fuck down.
Think about the Clinton years. Clinton's second term. He worked with the repubs, the rich got taxed and everything worked out fine. Stop acting like the sky is going to fucking fall cuz it aint.

we are just one big o.j. simpson jury now
there is a new normal in this country
there is no longer an american way or a respect for the founding, its a new america
we are becoming a nation of settlers, settling for a mess of pottage
we are also becoming a nation of "get-eveners" for some perceived wrong instead of a nation of i can do that too-ers if i just try
8% unemployment doesnt hold the same negative consequences for re-election as it once did as the pain of unemployment has been morphined away with government benefits
its now a losing message, convincing someone its up to you instead of the message we can get it from them, the meanies, and give it to you
until it gets bad enough, i am fearful it will stay this way

WTF, one thing is for sure. The cold realities of life did not change last night.
I am sitting in my office right now enjoying all of the pontificating. President Obama and Mitt Romney both gave good speeches last night, one gracious in defeat, one gracious in victory.
But this is now Wednesday Morning after. Most of the faces that were in the crowd at all of the victory parties last night will soon get hit with the fact that if President Obama is going to get anything accomplished, he will have to move to the middle, and that means abandoning many of the programs that his base holds dear.
For us that live in the real world, this is as plain as the sun coming up.
President Obama is not stupid. And I doubt he wants to go down in History as the President that Bankrupted America. He knows that he now has to come up with something that will appeal to those in this Country that really make things work, the Business Community. For us out here on the front lines that are running successful companies, employing people, making payroll, and paying taxes, he has to put forth programs that will keep us doing that very thing.
His base will not be happy. But like I said, this is now the Wednesday Morning After the big party. Reality has not taken a vacation.

I had a friend that lived for two years off of credit cards.
He had fun while it lasted, didn't have to work just transferred
balances from one card to another and used cash advances
to make minimum payments. finally it caught up with him,
the debt became too much and he had to find a job, problem
was that he couldn't pay the debt and live off of his wages
at the same time, so his well to do father finally payed
off the debt for him. But what if he didn't have a wealthy
father?
Same scenario that America is in right now. What happens when
we finally reach that breaking point? What event could, or should
I say will bring it about? When our adoptive parents (The Chinese,
good God in heaven help us) are no longer willing or able to carry our debt.
I don't know, you tell me.
A world wide global depression.
A new police state to maintain control.
The United Nations taking over.
Most likely the devaluation of our currency.
That is already taking place.
Could it happen over night?
It has in Mexico several times, that's why their country is so poor.
Do you know what this will mean. If the dollar is devalued by 50%
it is just like someone got into your bank account and stole
half of your money, or broke into your house and took off with
half of your stuff.
I don't know, there are many different scenarios, all with one thing
in common, none of them even come close to being good.
What do y'all think will happen? It can't go on forever.
The only factor is time.

Actually it would be hard to be much closer. At present, there's only a two percent margin separating Odumbo's 50.3% from Romney's 48.3%. A mere 1% shift in Romney's favor would put the popular vote into a statistical tie. Arizona had a relatively low voter turn-out: fascinating considering how contentious Arizona has been during the last two years.

Difficult to reconcile your remark above with the complete lack of adult behavior and magnanimity in any of the lefty posts filling three full pages in this forum this morning.

You are correct, you can only win national elections with the liberal's "all or nothing" view......the American DNA has mutated....I know that now......
