Does a crown tattoo on a provider refer to the mark of a pimp? I only ask because I know a girl in the civilian world who is married to a friend of mine that has a crown on her forearm. I don't know her life story but I'm pretty sure she had the crown before they met and she later added his name under the crown.

I've seen a few providers with the crown and had always associated it with a pimp.

It depends on the style of the crown, there is a well known Dallas pimp that "brands"
his girls with a crown tattoo...normally on her back, or thigh. there is also a crown tattoo associated with a Chicago based gang the Latin kings............

I have a crown tattoo on me with my year of birth inside of the tattoo. It simply represents power..me being a queen
But some pimps lable their girls with crowns..but thank god ive never needed a pimp!

I usually like snopes, as it often gets legitimate cites/references. As for the article on crown tattoos, wtf?

They searched twitter for the words "crown tattoos" and that constitutes definitive research. Twitter has made the users of it dumb, even snopes. If you search "dick tattoos" on twitter, it brings up some images of Moby Dick tattoos. That doesn't mean I am going to use that combination of words to access literary fans.
