The New Fair Deal is a legislative package being written by members of Congress with the support of FreedomWorks.

It's built on four pillars:

End Corporate Bailouts.
We believe that it shouldn't matter who commands the biggest, baddest lobbyists inside the Beltway. Every business owner should compete on the same playing field because the government exists to serve and protect all of us, not just the favored few.

Tax Fairly.
We all want to pay our dues as proud Americans, but we don't have to stand idly by as the government tricks us into paying more than we should. We work hard to earn our income, and we don't need the government telling us how we can best spend our money for ourselves and our families.

Stop Overspending.
Finding a way to run the government in a sustainable way doesn't have to be this hard. If we lower federal spending by just one percent in real terms every year, we could have a balanced budget in ten years.

Empower Individuals.
Empowerment starts with choosing what programs work best for us and our families. Let's take back the choice to opt-out of Medicare and keep more of our hard-earned money in our paychecks. Let's make every program voluntary.

Nice goals, but unfortunately, it reads like a political party platform, all fluff to gather support, but no reality on exactly how to get there. Give me some details on how said fluff would actually become reality and then I could consider supporting it. Until then, it's just another empty political promise.

What part of "end corporate bailouts", "tax fairly" (The FairTax), and "stop overspending" is hard to understand? And what is difficult about people making their own decisions, and accepting responsibility for same?

As I stated, these are very fine goals to achieve and well worth the pursuit. However, apparently you failed to comprehend my question. HOW are these goals to be implemented? The entire article offers platitudes, NOT A DEFINITIVE ROADMAP. The article post nice goals to obtain (which I wholeheartedly support) but offers NO DEFINITIVE PATHWAY AS TO HOW WE GET THERE. What part of reality do YOU not comprehend?

Here's the plan.

Next time a corporation finds itself in financial trouble, they find their own way out without government giving them money.

Repeal the income tax, and replace it with the FairTax.

Balance the budget. Bring the federal government back within the confines set for it by the Constitution.

Empower individuals by letting them do whatever they want to do so long as they don't endanger someone else's life, liberty or property.

Is that better? These are not difficult concepts.

Again, as Chefnerd points out that you don't seem to get is that there are no specific details in there.

It's all nice and all to say you support fair taxes, but what does "FairTax" (which btw, your quote does not mention at all) mean? What exact number in taxes does that mean I as the taxpayer pay?

Making every program voluntary too is a trap. So you're saying that I don't have to pay to support the military if I want to? So if the United States gets attacked, how are you going to exactly prevent me from benefitting from what other people are paying into? If I choose to opt out of paying for roads, how are you going to prevent non-road payers from using them? Say I opt out of programs that help cut down on air and water pollution? How do you prevent me from taking part in those programs?

These are just simple examples that don't even come close to encompassing the scope of the issues such a vague policy will have to deal with.

It's a statement of principles. The OP didn't mention the FairTax, but I did, because that is the best plan out there. Jesus, Obama wants to go after guns, and no one demands details. Obama promoted and signed Obamacare, before anyone asked for details. You people are only hung up on details if a plan sounds like it didn't come from a liberal.
