By their fruits ye shall know them...
Ian Kershaw said that defining fascism was like "nailing jelly to a wall". One Supreme Court Justice on being asked to define pornography said that he can't, but he knows it when he sees it.
https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2023...on-debt-limit/
Democrat representative Porter wants the banks to pressure the GOP to give in on the debt increase.
https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics...-investigators
Bank of America (a private entity) voluntarily shared confidential information with the federal government without a warrant. They become a part of the enforcement arm of the government when they did this.
Big Business working hand in hand with Big Government is one form of fascism. You can see it but many on the left will argue the semantics of the definition. Looking back to World War II, many Jewish people did the same thing right up until they were put on trains to the camps. "This will pass.", "We're Germans as they are.", "Nazism is just a temporay thing."

The above post is about as stupid as they come. Unsurprisingly. Sadly the right wing thought circle jerk on this sight is shamefully stupid.

And big business Telcom companies cooperate with LE to provide cellphone locations to murders, rapists and other criminals to associate them with the crime scene.
They are not part of the "enforcement arm", but merely providing data that prosecutors may use to present to a jury for judgement.
Some businesses are smart and know when the better business decision (from their profit motive as we all respect, presumably)is to cooperate with non-warrant requests.
Some criminals are smart and know how to not leave a paper or minimal electronic trail. As Forrest Gump said "Stupid is as stupid does". If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

I will say that providing information to prevent a further crime is one thing but to provide information when it has not been adjudicated that a crime even occurred is something else.

Pissing on it because it’s a dumb set of thoughts and an even dumber argument. All musings aren’t worthwhile for discussion. Maybe you like the participation trophy for thinking but I’m good with calling out stupidity.

... Hmmmm... Ok... but then you don't need to read
or post in EVERY thread 'round here.
Blimey! ... When our mate Tiny and T.C. get to their
intellectual discussions on Macro-economics and
Micro-economics and what-not - I surely head for
the shores... No need to add "me 2c piece" there.
Just sayin'

It's called gathering evidence. LE does it all the time...it's basically their job.

Besides breaching amendment #4 (secure in person and papers), it's akin to aiding and abetting of same. However, it's always good business ($$$), to do what the government tells you to do?? Remember, back in the day, good ol' Perry Mason? That was when the Stazi was still supposed to go to a judge with probable cause and get a warrant.

Your response shows you want to repeat failed policies because you learn nothing from history

Sadly, some may have only learned the phrase: Rules and consequences from the John Wick movies. Turns out the Bill of Rights considered this, way back when. Besides, does anyone really want LE to just randomly bust in or sneaking into your joint at any hour of the day or night to rifle through your junk to see if'n you might be thinking of doing some shit for fun and profit? I take it you've seen the movie The 5th Element. Not the type of society I aspire to. Judge Dread, Minority Report. We've been warned about this.
Now, let me turn a corner - Social Media. If you are darned fool enough to stand on the street corner (public square) spouting off about your plans or intention to perform vicious crimes, then the quote from the movie Forset Gump comes to mind: Stupid is as Stupid does.

Democrat Senator Introduces “Ministry of Truth” Bill that Would Create a Federal Agency to Target Americans for “Misinformation” and “Hate Speech” – Violators Would Potentially Face Civil Penalties
by Cullen Linebarger May. 19, 2023 11:25 am
The Democratic Party never fails to prove that the American people are their number one enemy and want them perpetually silenced if they dare speak out against them.
A Democrat senator introduced legislation that would create a federal agency that would censor Americans’ speech for “misinformation” and “hate speech” reasons. Think of this as a federal ministry of truth.
The bill, brought forth by Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO), is titled the Digital Platform Commission Act (DPCA). He claims his proposed legislation would “create an expert federal body empowered to provide comprehensive, sector-specific regulation of digital platforms to protect consumers, promote competition, and defend the public interest.”...

Members Are Reminded . . .
Of the Following . . .
Quote:
- #1 - Avoid cases of unprovoked rudeness to others. No place for it here. Yes, with the dynamic nature of the threads and topics, tempers will flare and things will become heated from time to time. You may often encounter individuals who become passionate or emotional when expressing one's opinion or point of view. That's all understood and perfectly acceptable within reason…….but, start slamming or bashing another member and be met with consequences.
- #3 - Disrespect to others, IN GENERAL, will be considered an item of low tolerance, especially when posting in our coed forums. Follow the Golden Rule and treat others as you wish to be treated yourself. This applies to fellow members as well as staff. We do not require that you have respect for us, but we do require that you treat us respectfully in the public forums. If you feel the need to vent, gripe, or blow off some steam regarding a staff member's action or decision, we ask that you keep it private. Email, RTM, or the PM system would be the appropriate avenue to take in such cases. In cases where you would like to request additional clarity about a staff decision, you are free to pursue an answer in either a public forum or private means of communication. If handled publicly, post your inquiry in a respectful manner.
- #4 - Blatant insults or hostility toward another member will be met with staff intervention. This applies to using our coed forums for name calling, personal attacks, or vulgar slang terms to describe fellow members. If you have legitimate concerns about another member here, share them tactfully in the appropriate private forums or with staff.
