Ronald Reagan's Benghazi
This article is a perfect example of how far we've fallen in terms of the rancor that exists between the parties. More than 4 people died in Beirut and there were bad decisions made that led to the lax security. No one tried to impeach Reagan. There was ONE investigation. The findings were accepted by both parties. There were three attacks in Beirut in the span of 18 months.
"The story in Beirut wasn’t over. In September of 1984, for the third time in eighteen months, jihadists bombed a U.S. government outpost in Beirut yet again. President Reagan acknowledged that the new security precautions that had been advocated by Congress hadn’t yet been implemented at the U.S. embassy annex that had been hit. The problem, the President admitted, was that the repairs hadn’t quite been completed on time. As he put it, “Anyone who’s ever had their kitchen done over knows that it never gets done as soon as you wish it would.” Imagine how Congressman Issa and Fox News would react to a similar explanation from President Obama today."
Can you imagine the shitstorm that would ensue if Obama used that line as a way of explaining why something went wrong that led to the deaths of US government employees on foreign soil?

Reagan fucked up. That does not mean his successors are to be given a pass when they fuck up.

So what happened back in 1984? Was it all a reaction to a video? A spontaneous demonstration that somehow got out of hand? Did Reagan duck all responsibility?
Tell the whole story, sewer rat!

Yes it seems as if Reagan blamed it on the repairman! So it wasn't Ronnie's fault. You Benghazi partisan hacks are to fucking funny.

No one is asking for a pass. They have admitted it was a screw up. There was no nefarious intent. That is what Republicans want to find but it's just not there. People make mistakes.

The fact remains, except for Hildabeast's ego and, it appears, the "business dealings" of her associates (read "donors"), Stevens and Smith should not have been in an insecure compound in Benghazi on the anniversary of 9/11. The embassy compound in Beirut was a fully legitimate station, and only a dissembling asshole, like the OP of this thread, would disingenuously compare the two incidents. What happened in Lebanon in 1983 was unprecedented, and the U.S. had to adjust. What happened in Benghazi in 2012, occurred after those adjustments were supposed to be in place.
Bringing up Beirut up as a point of comparison only serves to underscore how Odumbo and Hildabeast completely failed as leaders because they ignored the lessons of history.

Exactly. It's not a defense or an excuse, it's simply providing context. Administrations fuck up. It doesn't mean they're was some ulterior motive behind it.

A legitimate station where the guards were ordered to use unloaded guns... Beirut was attacked twice more in the ensuing 18 months. Seems Reagan failed as a leader in that instance as well. And then blamed it on the contractors.

You're a lying jackass, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas. Cite where any terrorist suicide bomber before October 1983 ever used a 19 ton truck bomb to crash through barricades and wire to penetrate American security and kill Americans, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas.
It was an unprecedented attack!
And the "contractors" you so fallaciously claim Reagan blamed was, in fact, a platoon of U.S. Marine engineers that was organic to the 24th MAU, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas.

So blaming US soldiers is better? Engineers do build, you fucking idiot. That is their function within the military. You are a fallacious turd who will grasp at any straw. I merely sought to provide context and you are getting butthurt that your precious Reagan wasn't a saint like you and your conservative blowhards wish he was.

He let the Soviets spend their money and military trying to clean up the mess called the Middle East and that along with low oil prices doomed them for quite a long time. Kinda like what I hope happens now. Putin is going to have to spend a pile of money over there and will be no more successful than anyone ever has been. I'll be glad when the last drop of oil is sucked from there and the world will be done with that shit hole!

Noticed how your stupid, lying-ass deflected and didn't cite where any terrorist suicide bomber before October 1983 ever used a 19 ton truck bomb to crash through barricades and wire to penetrate American security and kill Americans, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas. And the commander was at fault, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas. He was the one in charge of the engineers and of security, and he was the one who directed that the sentries' rifles be unloaded, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas.
