Just a question.. when a lady describes herself as "Exotic" what do you think that means? I have Seen lots of girls on BP do it... and I too have described myself as such . Then again I am one variation of what IS considered "EXOTIC". But lately I have seen ladies claim to be exotic and it seems a bit strange ! .. lol... what do you expect when you see that title? Just curious...Is it code for a certain sexual act? Please let me know

Exoticism, by one definition, is the charm of the unfamiliar.

It has a variety of meanings and definitions. For instance, strippers are also referred to as exotic dancers.

Usually, it's used to describe someone with tan skin, dark shiny hair, big lushious lips, can dance and gyrate, curvy and smart. Exotic people have mysterious, alluring and sensual eyes.

When I think of exotic women, I think of someone like Salma Hayek, Monica Bellucci or a lady from the islands.

I use the term exotic to describe me, but it fits me cause I'm Mexican and NA Indian. I do find it humorous though when I see a blonde calling herself exotic. What exactly is exotic about a blonde or redhead? lol

The term exotic doesn't describe ones haircolor necessarily. Shakira and Beyonce: Both exotic blonde haired hotties. Raquel Welch: REDHAIRED Exotic Babe.

I think its one of those phrases that doesn't really tell us much anymore, because it's been so overused. Precisely because it's used to make inaccurate descriptions of what is really going on. But like GFE, it's up to interpretation by the reader. Perhaps a phrase like 'sultry' could be paired with it to provide a more accurate depiction. My 2 cents.

LOL It does seem to be overused these days. I usually think of darker skin, and being from another country outside of the US. I suppose some girls could have an exotic look though.

Yup, Salma is Lebanese and Mexican and she is definitely exotic.
Monica Bellucci is the hottest woman alive in my opinion but I wouldn't call her exotic.

LOL! White Girls??... Interesting. I know plenty of All American ladies that have an exotic look. I actually posted a few of the dictionary definitions earlier. Simply put, its just another adjective a lot of ladies use to describe their looks. Personal preference. Probably is over-used but I doubt guys really care what words ladies use to describe themselves in ads.

Yes, like when an ad uses the word, "volumptous", means what exactly? big boobs, but likely big everywhere

when I read "exotic" I think
-jungle
-can't speak english fluently
-may not be legal immigrant

Exotic should be used to describe someone not native to a particular area. A woman from Texas for example would not be exotic here but would be in Germany. An African American woman would not be exotic here but say a South African or Egyptian woman would be. It has a lot more to do with culture than looks, but is rarely used correctly.
