Question Scratch off lottery tickets

So, I've been giving this some thought and in my brain, the answer to the question I am about to ask is YES! But then reason takes over my mind and I think "well, surly if it was that easy everyone would do it".

My question is: lets say I buy 1 scratch off ticket 200 days a year from the same store every time .... do you think I have a chance of at least doubling my money within that 200 day period?

Should I pick the same ticket each time?
Or pick different ones?
Are there any tricks in the scratch off lottery ticket world I should know of?

I've never purchased scratch off lottery tickets before other then as stocking stuffers during the holiday, so I am pretty clueless as to what my chances of winning are, but for a dollar-a-day, it seems like I am risking very little to possibly gain a lot.

Play whatever scratch off that strikes your fancy. However, to ensure fairness in your play just make sure you either go to txlottery.org to check or ask the store clerk for a print out of how many winning scratch off tickets remain for the ones you decide to play. Stores (or the lottery commish) are under no obligation to stop selling tickets after all the game prizes are sold so its up to you to find out. They will give you a print out if you ask.

It's interesting you mention that because I remember seeing a segment on the news where people were complaining because all of the prizes had been won on particular tickets, yet those tickets were still being sold.

And you're right. It's not against the law nor does the state lottery have to pull those tickets even though all the big prizes have already been claimed.

However, I didn't have any idea about how to find that information out. That helps a lot, thanks!

I only play games that are new or still have alot of prizes.. Theres a strategy to scratch offs I know because I play alot.. The stores that have had big winners have a big selection of tickets. Thats the key..

If you can find a slow moving store in regards to scratch offs you can focus on one game & pretty much know when it will be a winner by the ticket number..

I knew a corner store owner and he said that the first few tickets from a fresh roll guarantee a winner. He said he would often win a couple $100 from the first 10ish tickets. But he was the kind of guy to brag a lot so take it with a grain of salt.

I have heard that one. Also the new games when released have the jackpots early on. Just myths with no proof. I like to play the weekly grand.

I'd think you would have better luck playing on those corner store machines... I've hit $1000 before and $4600! Odds are better... Personal opinion..

I was told that by someone who had worked in a store with machines.

I like that y'all play the lottery.
Keeps the odds of a state income tax lower.
