Default More than 30 advertisers drop Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh has lost more than 30 national and local advertisers on his syndicated radio program since calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute."

JC Penney and Capital One are now among the companies that aren't advertising on Limbaugh's program, according to story by Inside Radio. Media Matters, the liberal watchdog group, is keeping a list that says Limbaugh has lost 36 advertisers as of Tuesday.

One thing to note about the advertising: Some companies buy time directly on Limbaugh's show. Others instruct their ad agencies to buy what's known in the industry as run of schedule time, meaning their commercials run at different times of the day for several days -- so they could appear on a certain program one day and not the next.

Two radio stations -- WBEC in Pittsfield, Mass., and KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii -- have dropped Limbaugh's program.

as if Palins 2 cent excuse was relevant

comparing one to another doess not excuse Lush OR stop advertisers from pulling off his show .. it does give Palin another flash of spotlight time.

Rush is an "entertainer" - makes his living by attracting attention. He attracted a LOT of attention this time. Have to wonder if it was quite the kind of attention he expected.

They say, "Any publicity is good publicity." I'm not sure I see it though.

Guess he will be restraining himself a bit to try and woo them back? Naaaah... guess we will have to see how many more leave at this point.

You do realize there are multiple news sources on this? Why does he have to always link a source? Either you agree with it or you don't. If you want to find the source just google his headliner and I assure you you will come up with his source somewhere online.

JD didn't like the fact that Luis edited out what the quitting Gov from Alaska had to say on the matter.

30 sounds like a large number.

Not sure where the critical mass begins but according to some, there must be 150 waiting in the wings. I doubt if any of them sale feminine products!LOL

Most of those sponsors are locals just rearranging their ad schedule on local radio show. No big deal, others take their place. When stations start dropping him, that will be a problem. But they won't because he is the biggest money maker in those markets.

Money talks, and Limbaugh sells. Sorry, he won't be leaving anytime soon. And try to get a better source than George Soros' Media Matters.
