Default Ten songs on my personal playlist

Feel free to add to this, but here are some tunes that have had an impact on me in one form or another (in no particular order)-

10- "I Saw Her Standing There" (Beatles)- This was the first rock and roll song I remember really getting into. From the opening count off, I was hooked.

9- "Jailhouse Rock" (Elvis Presley)- This was the first rock record I ever owned, and I played the hell out of it! Yep, Elvis was a B.M.F. back then!

8- "Highway Star" (Deep Purple)- Even today, if I'm driving and this song is playing, I'll be doing 80 without a second thought.

7- "I Saw The Light" (Todd Rundgren)- Ah, takes me back to my first crush...as well as my first heartbreak...It was a nice summer in Huntington Beach, tho.

6- "In Bloom/Lithium" (Nirvana)- Two songs (among many) that showed me that rock wasn't yet lost to hair metal bands and corporate sponsorships.

5- "Riviera Paradise" (Stevie Ray Vaughan)- Takes me back to a very bleak time in my life. It may sound trite, but music does have a way (at times) to lead you from the dark moments. Rest in peace, Stevie.

4- "She's No Lady" (Lyle Lovett)- This one goes out to my ex-wife.

3- "Boogie Back To Texas" (Asleep At The Wheel)- I always play this tune whenever I cross the state line back into the Lone Star State.

2- "Master Of Puppets" (Metallica)- IMHO, the best Metallica song of the Cliff Burton era.

1- "Let There Be Rock" (AC/DC)- My introduction to heavy metal. Still gets my heart pumping 30+ years later.

As I said, these are in no particular order, and there are many other songs that I haven't listed here that mean just as much to me. Anyway, if you want to share your favorites, I'm all ears!

Hmmmm. Mostly staples we have heard plenty of times. Admittedly, Let There Be Rock and Master of Puppets never get old, but if I was to make a thread like this, I would wanna introduce people to some music they haven't yet heard, or haven't heard in a while. Kick ass songs I recommend in no order.

1. Digital Underground- "Humpty Dance" and "Dowatchyoulike". Classics! The former is about BBFSCIP and the lesser known latter is of course, about partying and self indulgence. I do not care for rap music, and cant stand strip clubs that play nothing but godawful monkey music, but shit like this kicks ass!

2. Body Count- "Strippers". This is not a rap song. This is Ice T banging out a real metal song that strippers can dance to! Very underrated band not popular with critics. Fuck the critics!

3. GG Allin "Die When You Die" this is REAL punk rock. I especially like the line "if you got AIDS spread it around and take some lives!" Whats not to like about that? Someone made a cartoon of this song and it rules!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMsPUygVJFQ

4. The Raunchous Brothers "Put it in Bare" what the hell is he talking about? hehehehee. www.youtube.com/hohocreampie

5. Type O Negative; "Christian Woman" check out these hilarious sexy lyrics. What a sense of humor. RIP Peter Steele.

6. Skrewdriver "Run N------ N------" Nuff said.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWAuAmOTUXE

7. Wesley Wills "Drink a Camel's Cum" Nuff said again!

rockerrick, that is a pretty cool and varied list! Public Enemy takes me back to my USAF days in Europe (NWA does as well, but that's another story)...

Anyone else have any tunes that trigger memories for them that you want to share?

Loreena McKennitt - "The Mummer's Dance"
Anna Nalick - "Breathe"

I rediscovered the seriously underrated Buckcherry album "Time Bomb". This was the second album after their big debut. The next album "15" saw them jump back to mainstream.

Two awesome tracks from "Time Bomb". and very hobby orientated....
