When I first read this, I thought it was related to the recent raid, but it's not. This case has been developing for at least 12 months now.

A man and his wife arrested on human trafficking charges a little over a year
pleaded guilty this week in Caddo District Court.



Defendant Linan Tian, 35, was accused, along with his wife, Bing Bing Li, of
operating the Palm Asian Massage Parlor in Caddo Parish, as well as similar
parlors in Bossier City and in other states, including Missouri. At these
businesses, female immigrants enticed from China were forced to provide
services or labor through the threat or use of force, fraud or coercion.

Tian, who was arrested in July 2017, pleaded guilty as charged Tuesday before
Judge John D. Mosely Jr.

Tian was sentenced to 18 months at hard labor, and was ordered by the court to
forfeit the assets seized from him during the investigation. This ranged from
several thousand dollars in cash, two vehicles, cell phones, computers and
tablets used to facilitate the crime of human trafficking.

Bing Bing Li, 31, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor money laundering and received
a six-month sentence with credit for time served. She, too, was ordered to
forfeit all seized assets.

I wish we all had better information about this kind of thing. When I go for a massage, the therapists are usually older women who have phones and their cars right outside and/or can be seen going for exercise walks around the neighborhood. Are these ladies trafficked as well? Complicating that question: I usually go only to the places that get a NO rating on this site because, hey, I can jack off myself but a good sensual massage is worth the money. And yet those older ladies with phones of their own and cars and that come and go as they please also rotate and work really long hours. Further complicating the question, a female friend expressed concerns that the PEDICURE (no shit!) establishments she frequents also feature "rotating" staffs--and she was wondering if they were also trafficked. Are they? I get that if you don't have passport your are stuck even if you can walk to the Starbucks, and I also get that we don't know what kind of pressure these therapists are under because of things that go on in their home countries. But still. I wish we could get this whole topic/industry out in the light a little bit more so we could make informed and conscientious choices about where we go.

18 months hard labor is all you get for human trafficking? did he get off easy or am i missing something?

Human trafficking can be anything from helping people into the country illegally but completely willingly with them knowing they will be working girls when they get here...

to straight up slave trafficking.

so the charges tend to vary wildly from what i have seen...

I know nothing of these people here charged. I only know what the women tell me. I prefer to become close with one at a time. Which sometimes leads to the most wonderful, unique GFE ever. Anyway, the ones I got close with all eventually transferred. They tell me that I am unusual because the typical customer constantly requests new, different women so that is why they rotate. From what they tell me, part of the rotation is a long vacation in different major cities such as New York, LA and Miami. They go there and stay at a house and are taken on tours and allowed to explore the city. Then they are reassigned, then long vacation, then another new city. My ATF was asking me about the AMP scenes in different cities. She wanted to put in for a city where she would be under less pressure from the customers for anything beyond a simple HE. She also wanted to know which areas had the most wealthy men. She is very happy with her job. The only time she is ever sad is when I ask about her prior life in China before coming here. She talks about the hard life in rural China she left behind and never wants to return. The AMP women I got to know are amazing, strong and brave.
