the legacy of Trump
We have Mr. Trump to thank for these responses to elections:
"Katie Porter Says California Primary 'Rigged' After Losing"
And in many more democracies around the world, election losers immediately announce "election fraud", "fake news", "rigged election".
Trump has done more damage to democracy around the world than anyone in history.

Where do you think they got the idea to yell "election fraud", "rigged", "fake" ? Rioting everywhere.
Spreading the seeds for military coups.

Trump expanded on this exponentially to serve his purpose. If you don't believe that, search all the utterances, tweets, and tv interviews Trump has given since the 2020 election.
It wouldn't surprise anyone to see 5,000 results or more.

The question of election integrity has been a republican talking point for a long while before Trump. As a Texas voter I’ve had to witness the same unproven diatribe for at least a decade now. The truth is that it doesn’t matter how secure you make voting republicans just don’t trust the process. Or perhaps they have been told that government is not trustworthy for so long that they don’t trust anything unless it’s told to them by their own party.
I find it highly disturbing that about 70 percent of republican and republican leaning voters believe the 2020 election was illegitimate. That’s directly related to the lies that Trump and the gop and the right wing media sphere disseminated after he lost the election.

The California primary system, while not actually "rigged" in the sense of it being a corrupt practice, is nevertheless set up in a way that pretty much ensures that a minor party candidate will never even be on the ballot as a choice.
Ther voter is always present6d with the choice between ther most popular Democrat and the second most popular democrat in the inevitable run-off.
And, true, it could one day be the other way, but the system doesn't seem "right" to me, regartdless of who it favors.

Now then, in the last election here in the Houston area, the election actually was rigged in favor of Democratic candidates in Harris County. The County election official in charge of it all did not send out sufficient ballots to serve the expected turnout in over one hundred polling places in contravention of state law. Some places did not get ballots at all. Others only got 60% of the number of ballots cast in the previous midterm and so on.
The telling thing is that all of the affected polling places were in historically high Republican turn-out areas.
This a was blatant and obvious manipulation of the election through targeted voter suppression.
