So the past couple days Ive been strolling down memory lane to past relationships and I honestly miss some things about traditional dating. I guess its the spring fever and memories of a better time in my life. Im curious as to what some of your thoughts maybe? I know many of the guys here are in marriages or relationships. However this is directed at the single providers that date in their normal lives, if there's such a thing when your in the hobby. Some how I believe some people can separate the two life styles. Recently a girl friend of mine was telling me how disappointed she was as to how traditional dating has gone from dates, dressing up, and going out. To being transformed into a text that says "hey you want to hook up" and meeting at a hotel room. Honestly Ive enjoyed both aspects.. I enjoy seeing a woman dress up, with a nice dress and heels. Knowing she did that for me is what I find sexy. I think most women like to feel beautiful and for a man to tell them that. I enjoy having a drink and talking which in most cases the hobby doesn't allow as your on the clock from the time the door opens. Some how I find that the traditional relationship verses the hobby has a set of trade offs. Honestly some of the best sex Ive ever had was in a traditional relationship where feelings were involved which brought on questions of where do you see this going? and Pressure. With the hobby, in most cases its a hit and run. I personally like more than that..but that's not always available in the hobby. I don't think Ive ever seen anybody more than three times, for one its a time, money factor. By the time a hobbiest has funds most times the provider has moved on to someone else. Ive tried the sugar baby thing..and honestly that's a money pit, most need more money than you have time to see them. So recently I find myself at a crossroads of finding what I need... I guess I was just curious if there were others with a like mind..that its not always just about the money, or the physical act. Id be interested in your thoughts if youd be willing to share.

Well I've tried the dating thing for the past 3yrs with No luck!! Your right somehow dating went from talking, then meeting for dinner and then more. Not it's all about a Hookup! I blame the millennials for ruining dating as I guess they think a Hookup is dating. At least most of the guys Do!

I think things changed when Clinton made BJ's "not sexual relations". It removed the stigma and made them as common as a good night kiss. Then came the internet with unlimited porn.....

Yes, I agree with all of that....and lets don't forget about the "dick pic". It forever changed the game!! women used to click on craigslist for a wild range of dick pics. Its never been the same since. Now you don't even have to buy a woman a drink, just text her a a dick pic then maybe a face pic and shes good to go.

Now that I'm happily divorced, money has decided to take up residency with me, and believe me, I'm not complaining. I like money too much these days for relationships, and it's cheaper to make a phone call and get my needs met

I am married and probably do not belong commenting on this thread. But I must comment on this about "dick pics". I know enough about DrinkinDreamin to believe he does not send unsolicited dick pics. My opinion is that possibly the internet and all the different apps on our hand held devises did make the dick pic more prevalent with the millennial males. However, I do not believe it is something a true woman (wife, girlfriend, sugarbabe, or provider) desires to have sent to her. Sure, there are a few exceptions but they are a very small percentage. The average mature woman would rather you tickle her mind and imagination with your words. Expressing things about her you find visually appealing or the things you imagine doing together ... doing so without being crude and obnoxious. They all read good books such as "50 Shades" and others. They are mentally turned on and then develope sexual desires. I don't recall "50 Shades" having any dick pics in it?

So if there are any millenials reading this, cut out the unsolicited dick pics. Or keep sending them and allow other guys to become more of a priority to your woman (wife, girlfriend, sugarbabe, or provider).

Sorry OP ... didn't mean to change the focus of your thread. I would certainly cringe at being out in the dating world today. You are correct that the whole dating scene has changed. I watched my kids (now in their early 20s) do what they call dating. Nothing like what I experienced in the mid 90s.

I stopped dating because all have to much baggage and want to move in too quick. I enjoy the hour meetings and no commitments.
Just me but I am happy sleeping alone.

I miss Some aspects of dating and having a girlfriend as i will NEVER get married again!! But with my work and everything I have to take care of, I'm left with Internet dating. And with all the dick pics women get so frustrated that they don't even bother opening up messages anymore. That's what has Ruined the internet dating scene!! Back in 2009-2011 before all the dick pics started, POF was a go to and had good luck getting dates and laid. And got back on it the end of 2014 and wasn't the same amount of Hits or messages. Gets worse every year, I think my last date off POF was in 2017!!! And none of the other sites are any better so I just say Fuck it! I get laid here I don't need to date, I get the Best part of a relationship right here, and don't have to hear any BS after a long day.

Hi, y’all. I’m a single lady. I’ve been married, I’ve had soooo many boyfriends. The hobby has simplified things for me. Too many times it’s happened that a guy expects me to feel the same way he feels and when I don’t its been pure hell. Then there is the guy that I’m dating or even living with that gets so jealous when I’ve given no reason for him to be jealous and it turns a nice day into the 9th level of hell. I’ve been followed, spied on, brow beaten, made to prove more than the other person has to, not to mention used for sex and money and as an arm piece. Punished when someone else was attracted to me. Accused of cheating ALL the time -even when I was not. It seems most every relationship I have been in comes down to a guy wanting to rule and control and change me. One tried to dress me strictly in jeans, tennis shoes and no makeup. He tried to be sneaky about his intentions by saying what a great look that is for me. I could go on. The thing is this- the hobby is dating for me. There are lines you guys don’t cross -like personal boundaries. You all love me just the way I am and we don’t have to fight about anything. I’ve been able to be honest and I can breathe. I can even get up and go to the store without having to ask anyone OR get any flack. I go to bed when I want, yes, unbelievable. Dating is far more dangerous than the hobby. I know it’s safer for me to have an evening with one of you than someone I might meet out in the world. Thank you for that. And hey, if I have a problem such as a dead battery, (thank you again Harley) I always have someone to call.

Thank you for your contribution to the tread Meredith. I suppose we all find comfort in the hobby for our on reasons. For me I guess it’s away to avoid hurting someone’s feelings by avoiding a commitment when the lady expects the relationship to go to the next level. In my complicated life the time I apply to the hobby is about all the time I have to a relationship and as we know a real relationship demands so much more. I guess that’s why I shy away from by the hour ladies. I understand it’s a business and many need the money. Its also nice to have someone you can sincerely call a friend and in this world that’s really hard to come by. It’s good to hear from you Meredith I hope you doing well.

I spent over 10 years between wife 1 and wife 2.
I fucked and fucked and fucked any chick I could. The good ones got a second chance, the great ones got a couple months. I just didn't give a fuck, till I met wife 2.
I put her thru hell for 4 years and stuck with me.
So, I figured I'd keep this one

Damn. That’s some deep chit! My wife just quit wanting to fuck, got grumpy, didn’t cook clean or work, spent lots of money on stuff I never saw so I finally jumped ship. Not sure I’d have been willing to do that without these gals around. Sure is handy to keep things on the up and up. Meredith and the rest know what imma here for and most deliver the goods real good!
