Some in Louisiana Have Prepared a Petition to Secede from the USA
Seems to be a trend. Still, I think I'd like the Republic of Texas better than Louisiana. But their hearts are in the right place.
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Peacefully grant the State of Louisiana to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.
As the founding fathers of the United States of America made clear in the Declaration of Independence in 1776:
"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

I won't sign a petition like that, cause this country was designed with the pact in mind " United we stand United we fall" I think thats the way it should be. We must adhere to our beliefs. If the Gov't doesn't want to then they must be removed not us.

Whatzup, I think you're afraid and/or mentally ill. In another web someone noted all the layoffs, firings, and freezed due to Obamacare and all you can do is laugh about it. You are mentally ill.
As for Tex, get ready to move. For someone who pretends to be from the south....the south is no longer the land of cotton but it is the land of military bases and oil. How well do you think the US will do if 85% of the refineries pull out of the union? Norfolk, Fort Benning, Camp Lejeune, King's Bay, Jacksonville, Fort Hood, Fort Campbell, Pascagula, Corpus Christie, Brownsville, New Orleans, Fort Smith, VMI, and if there was a general walk out I think Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Missouir, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona would follow. So we can add Leavenworth, Whiteman Air Force Base, Fort Leonard Woods, Omaha, and so many more. For some reason following the Civil War the federal government built a lot of bases in the south and a lot of southern men make up the plurality of the US military. Be careful what you wish for TEX. We'll have to start calling you DIX.

We may not have to wait for permission to secede. The way this nation is going it will cease to be before very long anyway. Once the government collapses I am sure there will be a long list of states that would want to become a part of Texas.. I like the sound of The Texas Nation or the Free States of Texas.
First thing is liberals count as 1/5th of a person in representation.

You guys are all missing the point...Louisiana wants to secede for one reason, and one reason only: Once they are a nation unto themselves, they can apply for foreign aid from the Obama administration. Education in Louisiana is ranked either 49th or 50th; unemployment is rampant; they're still struggling to recover from Katrina and the gulf oil spill. What better way to recover than become your own nation and beg for foreign aid? No more taxes going from them to the feds, but lots of money coming in. I think they have something here...

Why don't we call the new country the United States of America? It used to be a good name and it is not being used too much in the world today. Let Obama sue the new country to get the name back. I think the remainder of the country will become "The People's Republic of something" one east and one west.
