Hey, everyone. I have been out of this for a few years and am trying to get back into it. Today I contacted a provider and asked to meet. She said yes and told me to head to the part of town she is in. I informed her that is a 30 minute drive for me, but I am on the way. Right before I turned in to the meeting place, she texts me and asks for a selfie. After some back and forth, it was concluded we were not meeting.

I told her I understood, but I wish she had informed me of her selfie requirement prior to telling me to make the 30 minute drive to her because I ended up making a 1 hour round trip for nothing. Is the selfie thing common now? Should I be asking each provider before I make a trip?

Maybe if you are trying to hookup with someone on a more sketchy site, not so much on here or Preferred411. Most guys will move on if asked for a photo, so maybe it might be smart to ask about her screening requirements prior. I like you would have thought everything was a go if she had told me where to drive to.

I have been asked at least 7-8 times, at least, but only sent one. And of course I didn’t even end up seeing her. I don’t like it, but I get it if you’re a woman just looking at words from a phone number on your phone. That can’t be the best feeling in the world..

Yeah, I understand it from a safety/screening perspective. I guess I’m just bummed about the chronology of events. Oh well. Thank you both for the input!

I've never been asked for a selfie and would never send one.

I've only been asked for a deposit once and, of course, never sent a deposit.

I've only been asked for RL info once on P411 didn't provide it.

Be careful with that one. That is a bannable offense on p411. Especially if she reported it. It’s in their rules that you are expected to provide it. But also few ladies ask for it. And by then asking I d is a bit of overkill.

If a girl would’ve asked me for my pic six months ago, I would’ve said no way.

But, in the Florida Panhandle, I know of six girls that have been stalked/harassed/blackmailed.

The unfortunate thing is that this said person is using ECCIE.

So, today, I’d probably be more flexible with this prerequisite.

Please put yourselves in our shoes.
Not all of us are out to hurt you in the least.
We just want to know who it is that we are going to be meeting.
Not every lady is going to accept references of other ladies unless it is a woman that she trust.
I'd be more than happy to explain in detail via PM, because I would not want to say too much in open forum.

It’s awesome to have your perspective since you’re a well-respected, experienced provider.

Unfortunately, now I know of eight girls in the Panhandle who have been stalked, blackmailed or harassed. There’s more that I’m unaware of.

My new stance is... if I know a provider is legitimate, then I’ll work with her on screening. If it means I have to send a selfie, so be it.

Because of a few major league douchebags, this is why we can’t have nice things...

It’s very easy for a lady who advertises showing her face to say just give me a face picture too. But that’s her money maker, and your the consumer.

Ask the providers who don’t show their face if you can have a photo first as well for your safety. Maybe a name so you can make sure they don’t have a police record. Perhaps work info so she feels more comfortable. Ask her for the same. She what that gets you. If their hesitant, they should understand why guys might be too.

Ultimately though both the client and the provider have to make that decision. Do either party involved choose to compromise your own comfort for money or temporary means of satisfaction? Is the risk worth it to you if it goes sour? If it is do it. If it isn’t don’t complain when you become preyed upon based on what you divulged; or the money lost when someone wouldn’t yield to your demand.

If she ask me for a face picture, she might as well ask for a dick picture as well. They are both in the same family to me. Neither of which I will willingly do most times.........she can send a picture of her vagina to me to prove she’s not LE if that makes her feel more comfortable. Lol.

However, I’m willing to change my mind if she’s just that fine.

That's not exactly correct about P411. The rules state that your client ID contains "small bits of real information" and you are supposed to show those small bits if requested. Those small bits don't include last name, address, or enough information to identify anyone. I've had only one provider on P411 request full name, work information, etc. P411 does not require that you reveal that. Only an idiot would. The whole point of joining P411 us to not have to share that.
