Springfield Visit
Greetings Show Me State, I will be visiting Springfield in early, early March, so I'm inquiring about some good eateries when I get there. The last time I was in the area, Branson was still a sleepy town, and the big thing was Silver Dollar City. So any information would be helpful, stay safe everyone.

Dallas Rain has settled in Springfield now, if you haven't ridden the Highway to Hell yet.
If you have, or if DR's touring when you're there, inquire with Vyvian. Especially if you're into redheads.
I'll leave the locals to make other recommendations.
Cheers,
bcg

BCG, I've riden the highway and that was a couple of years ago, my knees are still shaking lol. DR is one of a kind, and thanks for the references, it's been so long since I've been there, but I'm excited to see how much the city has changed. I had no idea that you have settled in Springfield Dee, I always thought that you lived in New Orleans.

We hope that you find Springfield to be welcoming, fun, and safe. We have so many good places to eat. I'm quite the foodie, so I'm going to elaborate a little.
The Flame/ best steak in town
City Butcher/ best BarBQ not only in town but for miles and miles.
Farmers metro/ local farmer to table fare with a city flare
Metro grill/ Italian/Mediterranean
Gilardis /wonderful authentic Italian
Blacksheep/ most excellent gourmet burgers with adult milkshakes
Branson had grown some, adding the landing, also some good eateries.
One of my favorites.

Springfield is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.
We are a little behind times but we're getting there.
Enjoy

I get that... But trust me... City Butcher is as good as I've ever had ANYWHERE.
After my last post, I thought of so many other good places to eat here. Trust me... I'm a food snob. If you need any help finding what you're hungry for once you arrive, just pm me.
Yes Dallas.. Blacksheep is VERY good. The only thing is the same issue the owners had when it was Bjans, the ventilation just isn't enough. When it was Bjans, I left smelling like garlic, and now that it's Blacksheep, I leave smelling like burgers.

Um... Speaking as someone living in exile in Memphis, you have to understand that Memphians (especially Memphis natives) have a complex about their barbecue, probably owing to trash-talking from people from other areas of the country.
Memphis 'cue is good... no question. However the 'cue in other areas of the country is also good, and one's preferences--like one's preferences in other foods--has a lot to do with what one grew up with. One can develop a Law of Barbecue Preference, I think:
The barbecue a person grew up with will forever and always be viewed by that person as The Best Barbecue In The World.
That said, I'd think Springfield 'cue would be influenced by Kansas City 'cue (owing to geographical proximity), and KC is one of Barbecue's Holy Cities. Anyone who tries to deny that is simply a fool.
Cheers,
bcg

Mr. Spock, er I mean BCG, stop bringing logic to this thread lol. BCG and I always needle one another here in Memphis. But, I plan on sampling a number of things once I arrive in Springfield. After working and playing, I do have to eat lol.
