Things that make you go Hmm?
What does it? What sets off that sense in you that makes you decide you do not want to meet a person you converse with regularly online?
For me it's a few things.
An overwhelming sense of entitlement heads up my list.
Rudeness and a lack of empathy.
A need to always be the center of attention. ( my job, don't do it. )
Sometimes there are people we can get along with well enough online yet feel we don't really want to hangout in the real world.
Of course some of my online cohorts are restricted by geographic concerns while others are just like..
" Fun enough to talk to online but naaa."
What does it for you?
And please remember to avoid forbidden topics, thanks

FEELING
To me it a gut feeling. Those not to many people on line bother me. But then again I don't write much on line.

Fear that your expectations of them in your mind won't be met or there's a doubt. Or, on the insecure side ( typically me), I won't meet their expectations and talk myself out of it

Arrogance is a big one for me. My response is usually "I'm also educated, went to great schools, pay taxes, and own two legitimate businesses...your point is?"
Stereotypes that we all smoke, have bad habits, are untrustworthy, waste money, have kids, were molested, had bad lives, and what not really annoy me too. When someone posts things like that I'm not interested in spending my time with them.

Several Things
1. If they come across as overly preachy, bitchy, entitled. There is a right way to express one's opinion and engage in reasonable debate and there is a wrong way.
2. If they try to tell me how to hobby or what the "standard' practice is when there is no standard.
3. If they come across as mentally unstable or untrustworthy.
Those are the ones I get from board interaction which I believe is the gist of your question. Outside that, there are other factors such as location, desirability and impact on my budget - but I won't go into that since I don't think that is what you were asking

Actually, all factors come into play here.
I have also avoided people based on location, and such.
Like the gent who wanted me to come to his fishing camp and visit, all set until he mentioned there were 4 buddies with him.
Another gent who lives in what can only be described as a compound. Gated entrance and a shooting range on the property.
Oh and the guy who's address mapped out as an empty lot. LMAO

So, aren't you stereotyping people like the guy with a gate and gun range?
Sounds like just about every place outside a city in Armstrong county..............

I thought I might have been at first,
Then I reviewed his online persona and asked around.
A CPL of ladies had visits run way overtime because he wouldn't open that same gate .....
Any other questions Devoid?

So true, especially if it's someone I referred a person to.
