Agree and this is why I want to settle there. Madrid is great but at 48 now and heading in to my 50's I am figuring by my mid 50's I will prefer the warmth of the south and the sea; the beaches, who knows. Daily flights from Madrid, Malaga, Valencia and Barcelona in to Germany too! Spain is dirt cheap to retire too, has great medical care and you can buy private Spanish insurance for cheap and not have to worry about lines. 200,000E-300,000E ( even less) buys you a great place too or can rent for very low.
