The Coming Drone Attack on America
An unclassified US air force document reported by CBS (pdf) news expands on this unprecedented and unconstitutional step - one that formally brings the military into the role of controlling domestic populations on US soil, which is the bright line that separates a democracy from a military oligarchy.
Given the Department of Homeland Security militarization of police departments, once the circle is completed with San Francisco or New York or Chicago local cops having their own drone fleet - and with Chase, HSBC and other banks having hired local police, as I reported here last week - the meshing of military, domestic law enforcement, and commercial interests is absolute. You don't need a messy, distressing declaration of martial law.
And drone fleets owned by private corporations means that a first amendment right of assembly is now over: if Occupy is massing outside of a bank, send the drone fleet to surveil, track and harass them. If citizens rally outside the local Capitol? Same thing. As one of my readers put it, the scary thing about this new arrangement is deniability: bad things done to citizens by drones can be denied by private interests - "Oh, that must have been an LAPD drone" - and LAPD can insist that it must have been a private industry drone. For where, of course, will be the accountability from citizens buzzed or worse by these things?

Same old stuff, most of doesn't make sense, and the part that does is stupid.
Read the article by the very left wing Naomi Wolf. At least she is an American!

COF get nailed again for Chicken Little Alarmist Post #14,658! First he says it's a "Drone Attack" and then he calls it "Spying"!
Well, he's certainly convinced me. From now on, I'm BACKING through red lights so the camera will be fucked up from trying to figure out if I was in the wrong lane or running a light.

COG, tell me...on a personal level...up there in Kansas or wherever the fuck you are. How worried are you about this shit? Drones over Kansas? Seriously?
And while were talking about it. Do you have one instance of drones over Kansas, or anywhere else in the US, committing what you think are violations of the Constitution? Just one. Got anything? Or is this more "The mayan sky is falling" nonsense?

This is happening. That is simply a fact. If you want to choose to ignore it, go ahead. If we wait until it's nationwide, it's too late. In fact, it is probably already too late. If you don't think we are quickly becoming, or already are, a police state, then you are intentionally keeping yourself ignorant.
The Fourth Amendment provides that I am allowed to secure in my person, and not searched without probable cause. The government has no business monitoring my communications, which they do, or spying on my property, which they now can do, through satellites and drones. The government can now arrest and detain me indefinitely without charging me, or allowing me prove my innocence.
I don't think these are good things. If you do, fine. But I don't, and I am going to speak up about them. Naomi Wolf, the author of the article, is a big-time left winger. This isn't some libertarian or conservative rant. Even the left knows what is going on. Hell, even Al Franken had the sense to vote against the NDAA.
This is not what America is supposed to be. I'm just stating the facts.
