soulard mardi gras

I'll be in stl for mardi gras for the first time and wanting to get some locals opinion of the event. I'm assuming it'll be a little refreshing compared to the unrelenting psychofest that is the nola mardi gras. Also wondering who will be around during that time.

Most of the bars in Soulard and on Laclede's Landing should be busy with events. Be sure to lock up your car or take an Uber/Lyft if you plan on drinking.

I have heard that NOLA Mardi Gras is a little more wild but here they do warn any flashing of body parts for beads (I know, no fun right?) and things like public urination will end up with you taking a short staycation in our fine jail facilities.

Thx for the info mw. I went and it was fun. Nola mardi gras is alot more wild. In fact you can't compare the two. But I almost prefer the little tame mardi gras because you can only step in so many piles of human waste before you have to come up with a plan b. I'll try mobile Al mardi gras next year
