The Tesla is a fraud, and is doomed to failure.

All the batteries are distributed along the bottom of the chassis, and will become overheated in hot climates, thereby degrading the life of the batteries.

But the biggest problem is the cycle life of the batteries. Lithium batteries can only be recharged a few hundred times if they are discharged and then recharged fully.

If a Tesla owner only uses half the battery capacity of the car before he recharges the batteries will last for a very long time, however Tesla is encouraging owners to use the entire battery capacity before recharging, and that will destroy the batteries.

Even worse Tesla is encouraging owners to use high current charging stations to cut down on charging times. This will also destroy the batteries.

Lithium batteries can last a very long time, but only by treating them well, and that means:

1 only recharge them after depleting them no more than by half

2.never let them get very hot....particularly when charging

3.always charge them with a low current over many hours.

New Tesla owners will have a great car if they treat their batteries accordingly, but the Tesla company is misleading buyers regarding the fragility of the batteries.

If you want to know the truth about the Tesla battery go to any wholesale battery site and look for the cycle life of the Panasonic 18650 battery. You'll see it's rated to only be recharged up to 500 times at most.

Think you are wrong about the charging of the batteries, but you are wrong about a lot of things...Wet cells you keep charged dry cells you let run down increases their capacity..

Why would you say something so completely the opposite of the truth?

This has nothing to do with "wet" cells or "dry" cells.

The battery in question is not a lead-acid battery, or a Nickel-Cadmium, nor a Nickel Metal Hydride. It is only a lithium-ion battery made by Panasonic, in particular the Panasonic 18650 battery made purposefully for laptop computers AND WAS NEVER INTENDED AS AN AUTOMOTIVE BATTERY.

Panasonic is now providing this battery to other car manufacturers and they are failing to inform their cars' buyers of the weaknesses of this particular battery. Under the uses the owners will put these batteries THEY WILL FAIL PREMATURELY.

Just go to any site with information about the cycle life of lithium ion batteries, or check out the recharging estimates for 18650 lithium batteries and you can easily find out the simple truth.

Lithium ion batteries can be recharged over 100,000 times if you discharge them to only 20 percent before recharging.

They can be recharged about 50,000 times if you discharge them by no more than 60% before recharging.

If you discharge them fully before recharging they can be recharged only 500 times.....max.

And all those estimates are ideal ones where the batteries are never over-heated or charged with high current, all of which will destroy the batteries much sooner as well.....

DON'T BUY THE TESLA.
