Default Some Sanity Restored to PA

https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/23/polit...nal/index.html

The PA Supreme Court ruled wisely, and mail-in ballots tossed for defects can be Cured with provisionL ballots.

What matters is that registered voters can have their votes count and right to vote affirmed without overly draconian rules disenfranchising them

Yeah. We should send everyone a dozen ballots in case they fuck one up they’ll have some extras. Then again, if you’re to stupid to fill out a rudimentary form you probably shouldn’t be voting anyways.

The fact that mail in ballots are ok for both parties- tells me it's both agreeable and legal. Why don't RedHats think it's ok for immobile or home bound folks, or people who will be out of the area during Nov 5th, count as legitimate voters?

When the dispersions against mail in ballots that are sent out to people who ask for them and then return them are being made- it simply shows that Republicans don't understand that the mail is a trusted source of voting. It's trusted to make payments, and it's trusted to make deliveries and it's trusted to track packages- but somehow or another - it's not trustworthy to cast a vote??

Sounds like somebodies boogie man has seeped under the foil lining in that red hat.

Here's a thought!

Election day is made to be a National Holiday where everything other than truly mission critical stuff needs to be closed. Like Christmas or Thanksgiving. This way, everyone can vote because they don't need to take time off.

And then also help the elderly or immobile to travel to their polling location. This way, even people without a means to travel (a big importance for rural locations) can vote!

but... you are right. The redhats don't want any of this, because their whole deal is to disenfranchise voters. If EVERYONE in the country voted, there would be no GOP victories anywhere other than local elections.

I'm glad that some of the crazy rules are being rolled back regarding our mail in ballots. It is needlessly added confusion that is just voter intimidation masquerading as 'security'

If the concern is election security and specifically non-citizen voting, let's look at GA.

They found 20 total non-citizens (9 who cast ballots) who were on the rolls. And they need to do follow-up on an additional 156.

Here's the context

That's out of 8.2 million registered voters

The level of hand-wringing, whattaboutisms, slippery slope bullshit and misinformation that drive the MAGA election security folks is how you throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Similar reviews have been performed in PA. It's extremely rare as well.

*queue the usual ballot harvesting, dead people voting and ID jibber jabber*

Even Bill Barr, who helped trump wipe his ass with the Constitution on a daily basis, admitted there was no voter fraud in any state widespread enough to overturn the results.

We need these draconian measures rolled back here in PA, along with the other 49 states. Especially since Republicans are suddenly cool with early and mail-in votes this time around.
