Your favourite hotels around the world...
So I know we all have our favourite hotel destinations...I am curious to know what everyone's is or that you would recommend....Also, feel free to post hotel destinations you would love to visit!....I want to go on holiday soon and am trying to work out where I want to go!
These are 3 hotels I have stayed at that have to be in my top 5 list, if you haven't visited any of these, I highly recommend them!
Burj Al Arab-Dubai....stayed there while touring for an agency in London, absolutely stunning!

I value service and business features even when I'm on vacation so these might not fit the bill for everybody's holiday, but when Mazo's in town you'll find him at:
The Palace, Madrid
Hotel Kämp, Helsinki
Les Trois Rois, Basel
Hotel Pulitzer, Amsterdam
The Trianon Palace, Versailles
The Lanesborough, London
The Diplomat, Hollywood, FL (Golf location, not the beach club!)
The Palace, San Francisco
The St. Regis Shanghai
The St. Regis Monarch Beach
The St. Regis Princeville
Those of you who are frequent fliers will note these are mostly Starwood properties. Starwood is very, very good to Mazo. Mazo is very, very good to Starwood and stays loyal whenever he can.
Cheers,
Mazo.

SPG has been very good to me over the years as well. I don't think the program is quite as "generous" as it used to be...but it's still pretty damn good.
I'd echo your recommendations of the Princeville in Kauai & the Diplomat in Florida. I'd add the Le Meridian property in Florida as well. I can't remember if its in Sunrise Beach or Bal Harbour but I like it...a lot!
In London, the Park Tower property is also very nice & Knightsbridge is just a fun part of town in which to set up shop. In Mallorca, the Castillo Hotel Son Vida & the St. Regis Mardavall properties are both amazing!!
Back in our hemisphere, The Westin Resort property in Cabo is quite nice. The Governor's suite there...which they very generously upgraded me to on my visit...doesn't suck!

Embellished with mahogany and stone, the Mayaland Hotel and Bungalows, near the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, numbers among my favorite hotels. It reflects the fashion of a bygone era: the 1930s. It’s an awesome experience to sit on the balcony and watch the rising sun burn away the morning mist to reveal the ancient ruin of the Caracol Observatory. A real Indiana Jones experience!
I have hopes of one day staying at the Hotel Danieli in Venice. Almost did it last summer, but the Fates were against me.

You don't have to stay at this hotel to experience the historical charm of it: it was at the Menger in San Antonio where Teddy Roosevelt enlisted his Rough Riders that eventually captured San Juan Hill. The bar on which he stood to enlist them is still in the hotel. It's been a while since I've stayed there, and has been renovated since then. Don't know what the rooms, etc., are like now. http://mengerhotel.com/.
