The owner of Rockaway is a total asshole, though. He gets snippy and personal on social media with anyone who disparages his pie. Literally tells people to fuck off, etc. Very thin skin.

I don't care how good Rockaway is, I'll never set foot in the place. Dude absolutely looks and acts like a trumper, too. Fuck him.

Meh. Davide is probably the best of the bunch. No Fiores on Capital ave was a huge omission amongst others. I’ve been past Lupos many times but it’s closed when I passed by. Would like to try it.

I think you are thinking of the slice of New York guy? Although they are friends so maybe birds of a feather. I have had nothing but good experiences with the owner of Rockaway for the record.

I've had slice of NY, and Betos. Slice of NY is ok, and Betos with the un-melted cheese is just not for me. I like Fiori's with the lake of oil at the end, similar to Vincents but minus the huge Topings like Vincents. I am more of a fan of wood oven or the coal oven fired places these days. I just enjoy that crispy crust vs. the simple browned and done. I had heard Caliente was really good down off of 48 in pitcairn too. Haven't made it down there yet, but plan on going. The best pizza truck I've tried was Wood Fired Flatbreads at Sobels in Jeannette pa. I know they go other places, but was top notch in flavor and crispy bottom without being undercooked or burned- terrific pizza honestly.

Definitely talking about the Rockaway guy. If you go to their social media, you'll see him arguing with customers online. Lol. Dude's a jackass - or at very least doesn't care about alienating half of his potential customers.

Shame, like I said in person a solid guy with his interactions with me (seemed more liberal than a trumper too but who knows).

Being a jerk on social media doesn't seem like a good business plan, unless you are running for president I guess.
