How do you identify real "independent" providers?

I'm still learning but I've come to realize I want to stick to true independent providers. Maybe I'm being naive in my quest for dolphin safe tuna, but it makes me feel better. Are there clues that help identify true independents?

These are some of the clues I work off of, but clearly none of them are a golden rule. In the end it's a gut feeling.

1. 9 to 5 working hours.
2. Work out of a private incall
3. Responses are usually "off hours."
4. If they do respond on hours they usually are logged on to eccie or P411. I assume they're answering PMs, emails, and texts between appointments.
5. Their ads are glitter free.
6. They're very active on eccie.

I don't get why it matters so much to everyone. If the pimp is UTR, does not employ underage girls, does not treat the women bad, then who cares? In some cases, I'm sure they do a better job of management than the ladies would. I could care less how the money gets split, just like I could care less if the lady blows the cash on gambling, drinking or worse, or if she saves it all to her retirement. I hope it's the latter, but it's really none of my business. Why is everyone so hung up on this topic if it's transparent. I just don't get it.
