Hey all, wanted to put a few words on here so the community can help me work some things out.

A month ago I got caught by the wife. There was a short email trail on my home email that I had deleted, but when I got a new computer the old email program went and resurrected all my old email. It was Karma.

I had been meaning to give up the hobby because I really dont have any good excuses for doing it, but I hadn't gotten around to it. I kept dreaming about the time that I would just confess so that I could stop or be stopped. The wife is a good and frequent lover and I am not tired of looking at her or sleeping with her. There were a couple of times when the words were in my mouth but I could not speak them. I feared losing it all.

When it happened it was tough. Two days before Christmas, family coming in from out of town. This tough gal that Im married to took it on the chin, and we got through the holidays intact. We told a few of our closest associates so that we could talk about it to someone, but mostly kept it all under wraps. I gave up drinking completely over this and I gotta say that I feel like a million bucks. I have also given up the hobby.

However, I can't quit thinking about it and Im really worried that I will spin back into it. It is truly an addiction for me like any other drug. I havent wanted a sip of liquor, and I drank every day for the last thrity years, but I keep getting on here and backpage. What the hell is wrong with me?

Try the patch. It's just like the one for nicotine,but this one is scratch and sniff. If this is a serious post,I wish you the best and hope you find the willpower to follow your decisions.

It's unfortunate, but you have a sexual addiction that your wife cannot satisfy. You love her I see, but the want and feel for some strange is too overwhelming. You need to see a psychiatrist to get to the core of your problem. Self-esteem, depression so many things that you have to confront that no one here can solve.

If you love your wife seek help from your family, friends and of course from the medical community. Good luck and I hope to never see you again here!

Good advice DS. It's a tough position to be in, and some professional help might be very beneficial in providing support and techniques that can improve your odds of being successful. I don't know if there are any support groups like AA for this sort of thing, but there should be. It is a form of addiction and having the support of other individuals dealing with the same issues could be helpful.

When you're ready to get back in the saddle with a professional, Danny (which is any minute apparently, if it hasn't happened already), please let me know - I'll be an enabler and gladly take your money. The wife can take even more on the chin and watch if you like - maybe she'll join in . . . I'll even break my own rule and buy you a bottle as a gift so we can all relax beforehand and I can watch you fall off the wagon prior to our getting down to business.
