What are you seeing? But limit it to the "hobby"

More importantly do you see a "recovery" or what do you see a "recovery" looking like. Obviously the "world's oldest profession" isn't going away, but changes will we see? Across various price points?

Looking at the hobby here (MIDWEST) you would not use the terms "recession" or "depression." If anything the session rate has been climbing, not staying steady or falling. I think it is because our market is so small. We did see an increase in visitors. I figured maybe that touring ladies would increase competition, but all they did was bring their big city rates to our small towns in the Midwest which then triggered an increase in the rates of locals!

In fact, I had this discussion with one of our more prestigious ladies that will be visiting here soon and talked about sticker shock once she posted her touring ad. She talked about the prices she normally charges and the cities that was in. I reminded her that the cost of living here is much lower and therefore so are the salaries. She is normally quite bright, but this conversation was lost on her. I think she read my comments as subtle haggling. Maybe it was? She even commented on how pleased she would be that her incall location and travel costs were much lower than she would normally pay and that she was sort of hoping her profit margin would go up with this trip to catch her up to past productivity. In the same breath she wondered out loud why her services didn't seem to be in demand as she had yet to get any additional bookings.

To quote Bill Clinton (shudder) it's the ECONOMY, stupid.

Look we are all victims of our own avarice. Most guys want the best session they can get at the cheapest price they can get it. The ladies have exact opposite goals, so no matter what the economy does, we will always have this struggle. The market is what the market is. I used to be a two to three times per week client. If a high dollar provider was stopping by, I would have to skip one or two of my normal sessions to save up. Now, I have to skip even more in this economy, or make the decision not to indulge my special desires. We are all making changes we don't want to. In this case, I have to decide whether to see her and skip my ATF's for about two months, or skip her.

So no, I don't see a recovery on the horizon, when I have to make such decisions. A few years ago, this would not have been a problem.

It is one thing to get it at a cheep price if the quality is still there but I don't want a cheep experience. I would rather pay more for a good time.
