Places To Eat On The Strip
Yeah, I plan on doing the nice restaurants for dinner each day, but would not mind a fast food joint or two for lunch or late night snack. I will be staying right smack dab in the middle of the strip. Looking for some places within walking distance.
I wasn't sure there are any such places in that area. Any info provided would be appreciated.
Thanks

The peppermill right next door to the Rivera Hotel & Casino.Great place to grab a drink or a bite to eat late night.Plus, there is a lounge in the back where you can order food there and there is a fireplace back there.
Also,Ping Pang Pong late night for chinese food very good and not expensive located in the Gold Coast Hotel right across the street from the Rio right off the strip.
There is a pizza place that is open late night where you can get pizza by the slice located in the Cosmopolitan Hotel that is on the strip.
A great steak houses for the strip is SW steakhouse in the Wynn,Jean Georges at Aria Hotel,Prime steakhouse at Bellagio.
Those are a few of my favorites.
Good luck and enjoy vegas!

The best steakhouse in town is still inside of Circus Circus. There is also Smith&Wollensky right next to MGM. Slightly off-strip is Lawrys Prime Rib and Battistas Hole in the Wall for Italian, right behind Ballys. Golden Steer near Sahara and LVB. Capital Grill and Maggianos across from Wynn. There is Diablo Cantina for Mexican, in front of Monte Carlo. Late night there is always Dennys, outside of MGM. But the absolute best diner food is DuPars inside Golden Gate on Fremont St downtown and always open.
Like Jaydalee said, Peppermill is great as well. Most of the hotels also have buffets, of varying quality. The best in town is at Aria, second best is Main Street Station downtown/Fremont St.
Really there are literally Hundreds of places to eat on the strip and around it. And tons more great places if you can get off the Strip and around town. Its a true culinary delight!

Thanks for the input peeps. From looking at Google Earth, it's looks as though there is an Outback Steakhouse right across the street from the Mirage and a couple of burger places on the Mirage property. I'm not sure I'll be walking as far as the MGM area.
Again, much thanks. Hoping I'll be DATY more than anything, LOL, and Jaydalee looks scrumptious !

Hash House is great especially breakfast, there are a couple locations around town.
Seafood buffet at Rio is pretty good.
Abe, getting around is really no problem. The monorail is efficient and pretty fun, or the multitudes of cabs everywhere can get you around easily. Personally I wouldn't go all the way to Vegas to eat at Outback! Hell I can stay right at home and do that.

LOL @ Chica....I agree. Pity poor me, I plan my stops when driving around Cracker Barrel <sigh>
I may try the monorail now that I know there is one. Besides, Blue Man Group has their show at the MGM, and I've always wanted to see it.
Maybe I'll dig out my old hotplate from college days and cook in the room. I admit, I'm a redneck tourist, and I'm excited just to get out. Maybe I'll run into the guys from My Big Redneck Vacation show, LMAO

LOL@Abe! I understand, I do the same traveling. But you gotta break out of that when going to Vegas. Way too many other options available.

Great suggestions Im adding a few to my list as well.
I have been asking in my local city where to go and a few have suggested Wicked Spoon, STK, at the cosmopolitan and tacos & tequila in the luxor.
If you try any of the suggested places ..id love to hear the feed back.

Not a native to Sin City but I do regular visits there. Seafood wise I do enjoy Buzio inside the Rio, especially when they get the Kumomoto oysters in as an appetizer. There is a nice italian spot in the Venetian Grand Canal area called Zefferino's. Nice pris fixe menu for lunch and dinner as I recall. Also, if you can handle being deluged with country music, I did find Toby Keith's at Harrahs good for burgers and such. Also, looking forward to this summer when I visit once again, to sampling Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast. Seems that Travel and Leisure has put it on their best Chinese in the US list. Not that I necessarily trust all articles, but T&L is more reputable than most. I can compare it to the spots I have visited in SOCAL with my Cantonese and Mandarin speaking friends.

Thanks chefnerd....I actually looked at the Toby Keith's menu online, and since Harrah's is one of the two hotels I have narrowed my plans down to, seems to be a great option.

The Palms Steakhouse in the Caesars Forum has Bar Bites -happy hours 2x a day. Great bar food (prime burger sliders,etc..) for about $5...Lots of high end places have happy hour prices ask around...Burgers at KGB in Harrahs very good. Food court at Ventian good selections. Pizza at Grimaldi's in Plazzio is the best, but I don't think they do slices...
